How the Victoria’s Secret Angel keeps her skin glowing – no Instagram filter required

What is your first memory of beauty?

As a little girl, I have memories of my mother putting a bunch of conditioners together to make hair masks. It was, and still is, her ‘thing’. Like my mother, for me beauty has always been about being stripped back. Her routine was simple: just a little moisturiser and boom, ready! I love that way of thinking – for work I have to wear piles of make-up, so if I’m on a break, I literally just wear sunglasses. I sometimes get bored of seeing my face every day though, so I’ve always found it fun to play with my hair colour.

What is your beauty ethos?

My motto is ‘forever vacation’. It’s how I live; it’s about being natural. That’s why I don’t use an Instagram filter any more. I’m obsessed with skincare, though – vitamin C treatments are my thing. I have minis of everything, as I live out of a suitcase. In my 20s, the last thing I wanted was sunblock, but since hitting my 30s I’ve started to see little brown spots, so I wear one daily.

Which products could you not be without?

Also in my handbag you’ll find dry shampoo (my hair is so fine, and volume is a big thing for any Brazilian woman), lash curlers and lip balm. I can’t resist mascara – I have six at home. I love eyeliner too, but I just can’t crack it. On a shoot in Paris recently, I loved the liner so much I slept in it. I woke up with black eyes in the morning – I’ll just keep practising!
