Parent's Guide

Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11 is a golf game that lets you take to the fairway of several of the world's most famous courses, as you compete against some of the largest names in the world of golf.

Thankfully, real life golf skills aren't a prerequisite for doing well here. The game defaults to a control scheme based around the analogue stick - pull the stick back to charge your shot, and flick it forwards to drive the ball down the course. While that may be good for hoofing it to the other end of the field, though, it's not all that good for precision, which is where the trusty three-click mode comes in. Activated by clicking the analogue stick, the three click mode makes putting power behind your shot a lot easier - simply click once to start the meter filling, click a second time to set the power, and then press it again as the bar drops down back over line to put the perfect amount of power behind your shot.

In terms of accessibility, though, Tiger Wood PGA Tour 11 isn't exactly the easiest of games to get into. If your child's played, and can manage the previous 360 or PS3 versions, they should have no troubles here - but other, younger players, may struggle to get going. The game's career mode is structured such that there's very little in the way of a tutorial to help you find your way around the controls, and thanks to the game's levelling system, you start off with a character that has all the natural sporting talent of a brick. Persistence, as always, pays off, and you can eventually level your character into a contender - but younger children may be put off by the ball simply not going where they tell it to to begin with. A reading ability is also a requirement, as the few tutorials you do get aren't voiced.

Mature Content

With action that never leaves the bunkers and greenery of famous courses, there's nothing for parents to be concerned about in Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11. No violence, no swearing, and no sex.
