4×Mr Olympia Jay Cutler might have retired from bodybuilding, but he does not seem to leave behind its regime. Out of repeating his eating and training discipline, one thing he has been missing out on poorly is good sleep. So much so that Cutler feels that his sleeping habit is destroying him.

Considered one of the OGs in the bodybuilding world, Cutler has consecutively won Mr. Olympia from 2006 to 2010, except in 2009. He is widely known for his quadriceps and his eye-popping quad-stomp pose. However, after 2013, he retired from bodybuilding, focusing on his bodybuilding supplement business, Cutler Nutrition, and various other ventures.

Why is Jay Cutler not getting enough sleep?

It is unimaginable to believe that a bodybuilder like Jay sleeps only three hours a night. Whereas, the ideal sleep requirement for bodybuilders is no less than nine hours. Inevitably, Jay’s poor sleep cycle must be suppressing his overall lifestyle.

In a recent YouTube video on his channel, the 49-year-old mentioned his concern with his sleep cycle. He said; “So I’ve been waking up each time at three in the morning, and you know I go to bed pretty late, l like usually around midnight or so, and uh it’s been killing me because yesterday I slept like three hours and I thought oh come home and I’ll sleep and of course that didn’t happen you know.”

Apart from missing out on proper sleep, another factor that hampers his sleep cycle is frequent traveling. In the video, Jay also mentioned that his hectic early morning flights are another reason he fails to complete his sleep. The bodybuilder has a bad habit of staying awake late, and by the time he hits the bed, he has to start getting ready for his flights.

Jay Cutler has not faced the stage after retiring in 2013. But recently, a posing picture of the bodybuilder with fitness influencer Lexx Little became viral earlier this month. It got fans guessing Cutler’s possible comeback to Masters Olympia, a bodybuilding competition for older competitors in 2023.

However, later, Cutler nullified the assumptions of his fans. The bodybuilder said in his YouTube video; “They’re starting to say ‘Jay’s coming back for the Masters.” Cutler added: “We need to squash it, though”

Although Cutler is not returning to the limelight, it does not mean he has no fitness goals. His present focus is to tighten a few areas in his body and also get slightly fuller.
