With Taiwo Awoniyi finally receiving a work permit to play in England, the striker has a chance to finally put himself into consideration for a role at Liverpool.
And former Nigerian footballer Tijani Babangida believes that Awoniyi can make it happen, telling Tribal Football: "For Taiwo, I believe that [his work permit] is good news.
"Congratulations. We can't wait for him to start playing for Liverpool. The football in Liverpool is to always locate the striker and I think Taiwo is equal to the task.
"He should stay and fight for his place in Liverpool, not just to be a Liverpool player, always on loan to some clubs in Europe."
The 23-year-old Nigerian impressed on loan for Union Berlin but the latest rumours around him suggest the Reds would be looking to sell Awoniyi if an offer in the region of £8m was to be made.
Do you think Awoniyi should stay at the club or be allowed to leave?
