Samsung i8510 8 Megapixel Phone

Soon after the announcement of Sony Ericsson’s c905, Samsung came out with their very own 8 megapixel camera phone the i8510. I feel sorry for Sony Ericsson, they have been doing pretty badly recently and getting a lot of criticism for not being very innovative. Just when they thought they had something unique, Samsung come along and spoilt it for them. And, to kick a guy when he’s down, not only is the i8510 being released earlier than the c905, the full name of Samsung’s phone is the i8510 INNOV8.

The i8510 is jam packed with features and unlike some Nokia phones it has a decent battery life. Obviously the biggest attraction is the 8 megapixel camera, which can record video at 120fps for slow motion playback just like the LG viewty. It has built-in GPS so that you can location tag your photo’s. Video recording is one of the areas where the i8510 beats the c905, both can record at 30fps but the Samsung is VGA quality compared to QVGA of the Sony Ericsson. However, the c905 does have proper xenon flash whereas the i8510 has LED.

Here are some sample pictures taken with the full 8 megapixels.

The pictures look even more impressive when taken with only 2 megapixels.
