Kurdish New Year: Celebrating Newroz, the Ancient Spring Festival, in Kurdistan
In Kurdistan, the special celebration of Newroz marks the start of the Kurdish New Year. Newroz, pronounced “nu-roze,” brings joy, renewal, and cultural pride to Kurdish people around the world.
The word “Newroz” means “new day,” symbolizing the arrival of spring and the victory of light over darkness. This ancient festival dates back thousands of years to Zoroastrian traditions in the region.
