      1 check-in

As a seafood aficionado, I've always been on the hunt for the quintessential Maryland crab experience, and I'm thrilled to say that Boatyard Bar & Grill in Annapolis has set the bar incredibly high. The crab cake entrée here is nothing short of a culinary masterpiece. Dubbed as "World's Best Crab Cake Dinner," it's a bold claim that the restaurant lives up to with every bite.

The jumbo lump crab cakes are broiled to perfection, boasting a golden crust that gives way to the succulent, sweet crab meat within. True to Maryland tradition, they are "ALL KILLER, NO FILLER," allowing the crab's natural flavors to shine, complemented by a house-made tartar sauce that adds just the right tang.
Moving on to the crab soup, it's a harmonious blend of the Chesapeake's bounty. The cream of crab soup is rich and indulgent, with a velvety texture that envelops your palate, while the Maryland crab soup is a zesty tomato-based delight, brimming with generous chunks of crab and a medley of vegetables. It's the kind of soup that warms you from the inside out, a comforting embrace in a bowl. The ambiance of the Boatyard is as inviting as its menu, with nautical décor that pays homage to Annapolis's maritime heritage. The service is attentive and friendly, ensuring that every visit is a memorable one.

We came here with our 2 kids on a Saturday. The wait was a bit long (as expected) but everyone from the staff was really nice and helpful. The food was good (not insanely good, hence the 4 stars).

We ordered the kids burger and according to our daughter it was good. The fish and chips which were good too just not the best we've ever hard. The crap soup and the tuna salad which was actually delicious.

The atmosphere was great, specially for the kids, it's so loud here so it didn't matter if our kids were being loud too.

We always look forward to dining at this restaurant whenever we are in the area
( we live in northern Virginia).

The crab dip is an absolute must... never disappoints! This time my husband got the Annapolis Harbor salad with Mahi Mahi. It's a really nice salad with healthy dressing. Mahi Mahi was cooked to perfection.

I had the rockfish entree from the special menu. It came with risotto and broccolini. The risotto was very creamy and hearty. I found the fish to be little dry.

Now the butter cake dessert is absolute heavenly especially with the toffee sauce and the vanilla bean ice cream !!

We went in a Saturday evening and it was jam packed. The service is quite good.

      Excellent service & delicious food!

It was a booming Sunday afternoon. We checked in for a table for 2 and we were prepared to wait. We grabbed 2 drinks at the bar and barely took a couple of sips before we received a text that our table was ready. The hostess was so friendly and we were immediately seated.

Our waitress was very pleasant and accommodating. We received our appetizer in minutes; it was so fast! The crispy crab balls are delicious! Fried perfectly and all crab! The fish tacos were so good. Different than I've had on the West Coast which was a fun change and they were so delicious! The fish was fried perfectly and no overwhelming oil/greasy taste. My husband loves a good burger and he said his was delicious along with the fries!

I really liked how the menu had a large variety of choices. This is especially helpful when you have guests in your party with dietary restrictions or specific preferences. Although very busy, the restaurant had a great friendly vibe and wasn't so loud that you couldn't have a nice convo at your table. We'll definitely be back to try more yummy offerings - that scrumptious seafood tower is calling our name!!

A top spot in Annapolis to get an orange crush. Lots of local and nautical decor. Big outdoor space as well as a good sized bar area. Fish was lightly breaded and tasted super fresh.

Really great place in the Annapolis marina area. The staff is super friendly, the ambiance is chill and casual. I ordered the ying yang soup which combines half Maryland crab soup and half cream of crab soup ( it was amazing). For my entree ordered the crab cake sandwich without the bun and a side of vegetables. Best crab cake I have ever had, it has no filler. Can't wait to visit again.

Found this place after the place we were trying to go originally was closed. Place was quite busy in the evening. My trout was delicious. Being in Annapolis, the place has a nice nautical theme to it with a lot of Americas cup memorabilia and pictures

Hubby and I went here after recommendations from a local sailing crew. The crab cakes were delicious! A lot
of crab meat and very little breading. Our server Tori was very attentive and personable.. We'll definitely be back when we're in the area again.

Awesome spot in Annapolis! Fun "crush cooler" cocktails are a must try. We tried the crab and artichoke dip, amazing!!

One of our party ordered one of the pizza pies, super delicious. I had a bowl of the clam chowder and loved it.

We decided to order a slice of the Maryland Smith Cake, yum!!!

This is my second time here, definitely a fav now.

      Updated review

After going out for a 1.7 mile run towards the water and only to find that the primary restaurant that we were going to were closes. We ended up here instead, only because when I saw showing yelp suggestions to my friend, he said this spot spoke to him for some reason. It's been a while since I was here, I even forgot that I did until I looked up the reviews and seen my 2015 old write up. Man, time flies huh?

      Anyways, let's get to it.

Middle Neck Clams: Always something that gets me excited when I see these on a menu. Perfect prequel to any meal. I prefer them raw. Two thumbs up!

Dozen Oysters: I don't remember what we had, but our server let us pick 3 different regional oysters. Every one of them are delish and super fresh. Also two thumbs up!

Crab Cake Sandwich: Exactly what the server told us. It's what keep the light bill paid. It's so good, I could totally eat this all the time and not get tired of it. This also gets two thumbs up.

The place is pretty spacious, although it started getting full right before we finished. So do call ahead because it's definitely a popular spot. Service is also pretty good. The host was super nice and the guy who took care of us was superb. I definitely would recommend it to anyone who's in the area looking for a darn good lunch.

Thank you so much for reading my review. I hope this helps with your decision making experience. Enjoy your awesome yelptastic day!!!
