VICKSBURG, Miss. (WLBT) - A widely distributed video on social media shows a teacher being held back from physically confronting a student inside a Mississippi classroom, the Vicksburg Daily News reports.

According to the outlet, the video begins with a student at Warren Central in Vicksburg being expelled from the classroom.

The video does not include what happened before the altercation.

What the video does capture is the student exiting the classroom as the educator is standing just outside the door in what the VDN calls “an aggressive stance with an angry expression.”

Below is a recounting of the video as described by the Vicksburg Daily News:

As the student passes, they direct a derogatory term towards the educator. In response, the educator immediately pursues the student, moving out of the camera’s view.

The next view of them is with someone in an orange vest with their hands out, trying to keep the two apart.

The educator is yelling, “You wanna call somebody a b****!” challenging the student.

What happens next is ambiguous, but physical contact was made between the student and educator, maybe even a kick.

The student backs up, and the educator aggressively steps toward them, yelling, “Come on! Come on!” as if taunting them to fight.

The Vicksburg Daily News says they have contacted the Vicksburg Warren School District’s media contact for a response.

Although given the educator’s name, the outlet is withholding her name at this time.
