Cirque du Soleil, the worldwide phenomenon of acrobatics, dance, art, music and magic, has set up its 20th Big Top show,  “Echo,” at Atlantic Station.

The performance takes us on a journey through the memories and dreams of a girl named Future while exploring humanity’s relationship with the natural world.

In this interview, Mukhtar Omar Sharif Mukhtar, director of “Echo,” joined “City Lights” managing producer Kim Drobes to discuss what it took to bring this ambitious new spectacle to life.

“I like to share the creative workload with some of the artists because they have ideas, they have great ideas,” Mukhtar says.
