Prince Harry admitted there are still a handful of things that he misses about being royal and his time growing up in the UK, but he still wouldn't change anything about his life today.

In the final installment of the royal couple's new Netflix docuseries Harry & Meghan, the Duke of Sussex is asked if there are things that he misses about life in the institution. “Yeah, I mean, I miss the...The weird family gatherings when we're all sort of brought together under one roof for, you know, certain times of the year. That I miss. You know, being part of the institution meant that I was in the UK. So I miss the UK. I miss my friends.” Although, he noted, “I've lost a few friends in this process as well.”

But while Harry may be nostalgic for his old life, he is also fully embracing the new one he's built with his wife Meghan Markle and their two children, Archie and Lilibet, in California. He explained, “I mean, I came here because I was changed. I changed to the point that I'd outgrown my environment. Therefore, this was the most obvious place to come.” The royal added that another reason why the West Coast felt like an obvious place for him and Meghan to put down roots and raise their kids is “It's one of the place where I think my mum was probably gonna end up living potentially.” He concluded, “There's times when I've been angry, but I can't be that angry because I genuinely feel that I, and we, are exactly where we're supposed to be. We've made it to the other side.” Meghan added, “It's amazing how things come full circle that you never think about.”

In the episode, Harry's friend, professional polo player Nacho Figueras, added his own insight into why the Duke ultimately chose an existence so far away from Buckingham Palace, explaining, “Harry was always looking for a simpler life. More human, you know. A husband and a wife, with two kids and two dogs. Thinking about, you know, what's for dinner and what's our schedule look like tomorrow? Which is not something that was so normal for him.”

And another of the couple's high-profile pals, Serena Williams, added that the pair have managed to carve out the support system for themselves in America that they were never able to find overseas. “They're creating their own family. And friends can be family too,” she said. “They can start something fresh and new and hope that one day that family on both ends will be able to understand that this is truly love.”
