Ambala, September 9

Three minor girls were found in a semi-conscious state at platform number 2 of the railway station today. The girls reportedly belonged to Army families and were students of Class 9 and 10 at a school in Jalandhar.

The girls were taken to the Civil Hospital. They were handed over to the Child Protection Officer for counselling.

Megha Singla, Child Protection Officer, said the girls were upset as they could not score well in the pre-board exams declared yesterday. They boarded a Delhi-bound train and and reached Ambala today.

Singla said two of the three girls had consumed poisonous substance. However, both vomited. Their condition is stable and they would be handed over to their families after being discharged from the hospital, she added.
