Is Thomas Edison’s dying breath preserved in a test tube?

It is believed that the acclaimed inventor’s last breath is held in a test tube at the Henry Ford Museum, Detroit, the USA.

Automobile champion Henry Ford was a great friend and admirer of Edison, and requested Edison’s son Charles to capture his father’s last breath in a glass tube and cork it. Charles allegedly complied and went ahead with it. The test tube, after being filled with Edison's breath, was sealed off with paraffin wax and sent to Ford.

People have speculated that the reason for Ford’s odd request could be his belief that the soul exits as the last breath of the departed. The test tube went missing, but was rediscovered in 1978, and is now back on display at the museum.
