Mir Yerushalayim Closing Temporary US Locations, Will Return All Bochurim To Eretz Yisroel

The Mir Yeshiva of Yerushalayim has provided an update to the parents of their bochurim, saying in a new message that they will be closing its satellite locations in the US and return all of its operations to Eretz Yisroel – noting that “given the current conditions, it is now clear that it is possible to comfortably and confidently return to Eretz Yisroel.”

The yeshiva sent out the following letter to parents:

With חסדי שמים , we have witnessed a distinct סייעתא דשמיא at work in the learning established for the בחורים of the Yeshiva here in the USA. As you surely know, the Yeshiva has gone to great lengths and invested substantial efforts so that the בחורים of Yeshiva can immerse themselves in learning. Indeed, our dear בחורים are sitting and toiling in their learning with great diligence and התמדה , achieving remarkable הצלחה .

Yet, at this time, we must firmly heed the unequivocal call and הוראה of the ראש הישיבה שליט”א , in conjunction with other גדולי ישראל . Given the current conditions, it is now clear that it is possible to comfortably and confidently return to Eretz Yisrael, to learn within the ישיבה הקדושה , where the true עיקר of הצלחה in Torah learning and עליה רוחנית is achieved.

And the Rosh Hayeshiva said that the special סייעתא דשמיא that תורה מגנא ומצלא these days to the Talmidei Hayeshiva is to those who Shteig in all sedorim and Tfilos of the Yeshiva including Friday and Shabbos.

Therefore, it is expected that each and every one return as soon as feasible to the Yeshiva in Eretz Yisrael, to rejoin their חב ו רה and רב נ ים within the ישיבה הקדושה .

Consequently, this temporary learning arrangement in Woodbourne will remain open only until Thursday after morning Seder, the 11th of Cheshvan.

May the Ribbono shel Olam help us in witnessing ישועות and נחמות , and see many nachas from our children.

  1. Sounds to me like Mir Yeshiva management decided to Send its bochurim to Israel, and this letter is nonsense being fed to parents and students.

I realize that I am making a serious allegation, but that is how it looks to me

  2. WHICH parent in their right mind will be able to sleep at night if Chas Veshulem war breaks out from the North and the South and this becomes a full scale war , sirens blowing all night in Jerusalem,Bnei Brak .
We all experienced all those who travelled to Eretz Yisroel for Succos and struggled to get a flight back home.
And a lot were fortunate that Elal was operating.
I understand Parents do not want their Bucherim home but this is really a Shaleh every person has to ask his Rebbe or Moyreh Derech….
I definitely don’t have the answer but my son will return , leaving his parents with many sleepless nights .

  3. Could somebody please explain to me WHY yeshivah bachurim are being moved to Eretz Yisrael, precisely when Eretz Yisrael is at WAR — and a war that will not be easy to win — and a war that will take a long time to win— and a war that may soon expand from a one-front war into a multi-front-war?

  4. @rebyossel

Yerushalaim is the safest place in the world 🌎
The Gedolim have said that Yerushalaim is not going to be in danger

  5. RebYossel, which parents in their right minds would keep them in America with all the antisemitic attacks. Besides, I thought that learning protects.

  6. A very big Rav once said, that he thinks the reason why the Mir Yeshiva was saved from the nazis was due to the fact, that there is zero fighting in the Mir, everyone gets along, everyone respects the other person and also the Hanhalah get along.
A Magid Shiur in the Mir will never ever tell his students that I do not want you to participate in a wedding from a student that belongs to a different Shiur or Rav.

  7. the mir yeshiva has some of the greatist rosh yeshivas in the world it would be near kefira to say they endanger their talmidim or to say they dont run the yeshiva klal yisroel has always followed dass torah
