Description
n-Octadecyltrichlorosilane is used in semiconductor industry to form self-assembled monolayer thin films on silicon dioxide substrates. Used in molecular electronics, as thin insulating gates in Metal-Insulator-Semiconductor Field-Effect Transistors. It is also used in platinum catalyzed synthesis.

Applications
Le n-octadécyltrichlorosilane est utilisé dans l’industrie des semi-conducteurs pour former de minces films monocouche auto-assemblés sur des substrats de dioxyde de silicone. Utilisé dans l’électronique moléculaire, comme isolation mince de grille dans les transistors à effet de champ à semiconducteur à isolation métallique. Il est également utilisé dans la synthèse catalysée par le platine.
