Cancel illegal deputations in education dept: DTF

Warangal: The leaders of Democratic Teachers Federation (DTF) have alleged that illegal deputations have been taking place on large scale in the district education department in Warangal district.

In a statement here on Friday, the DTF district president G Ramchander, general secretary T Sudarshanam and a senior leader T Linga Reddy complained that deputation of teachers have been continuing in different wings of education department.

At least 10 teachers each in Sarva Shika Abhiyan, offices of Deputy DEO, mandal resource centres, DIET College, Government B Ed College, Science Centre and others were on unauthorised deputation.

After rationalisation of teachers, transfers and promotions in 2014 teachers were allocated in a fixed manner to each school in the district. If a teacher from a school was sent on deputation to other place that position would be vacant, they added.

This in turn would affect the ongoing efforts to increase enrollment of students in the schools and damage the maintenance of schools. Hence the district collector should intervene and cancel the deputation of teachers, the DTF leaders demanded.

They also demanded the Deputy Chief Minister and Education Minister K Srihari to look into the matter and to do away with the deputations within 10 days. Otherwise, serious agitations would be taken out across the district, they warned.
