"People just want to snack and not feel guilty about it later," A.J. MacQuarrie, founder and CEO of KarmaBox Vending, said in a news release. "Healthy food should be as convenient as junk food."

The machines can also have multiple methods of payment, such as Apple Pay.

While details on the exact locations of the machines are pending, KarmaBoxes are typically placed in high-traffic locations such as hotels, community centers, schools and businesses.

Founded in 2014, KarmaBox currently has machines in 65 cities and Vancouver, B.C.

Each community's KarmaBox business is owned and operated by local entrepreneurs.
