FEMORAL VEIN

The femoral vein is the main vein in the leg and accompanies the femoral artery in the femoral sheath. It stretches from the adductor canal to the inguinal ligament at which point it becomes the external iliac vein. The femoral vein and artery are also bundled with the femoral nerve which lies outside the femoral sheath (12).
