The Global South in the World Order project brings scholars together to deconstruct and rebuild the foundations of relations between Western countries and the Global South to foster prosperity for all. It seeks to question long-established Western policies and assumptions that often carry patronizing undertones rooted in an outdated era of the West’s dominance over the world order, and that too often have failed to serve Western interests and purported values. The project is a platform to amplify voices and perspectives from the Global South through policy memos, commentaries, and events in which experts propose prescriptions to rethink and revamp partnerships between smaller and emerging powers and Western countries and advance win-win forms of cooperation. The project will also build a bridge between Western policymakers and champions of change from the Global South. This will enable information sharing and establish mutual understanding to ensure that Western initiatives to advance development, economic exchanges, and international security are effective, based on actual needs, and foster local leadership.
