Kawhi Leonard put together a project in 2021 that solicited the services of rappers Gunna and Polo G for a track. The two-time NBA champ announced that some proceeds from the record would go to the Mamba and Mambacita Foundation in memory of Kobe and Gigi Bryant.

Gunna, who was locked up for months, has since been released. The Grammy-nominated rapper pleaded guilty to racketeering charges due to his affiliation with a gang.

However, Gunna stated that his association with YSL was focused on entertainment. Despite recent events, he highlighted that he would love and cherish his association with YSL music.

Leonard's music album "Culture Jam" was put out to celebrate hip-hop, community, and sports. Gunna seemingly has the same goal as he made clear in his statement after release.

Gunna said he is looking forward to giving back to his community. The Atlanta native has also promised to advise youths against gangs and violence.

Hip-hop artists have over the years built and maintained relationships with NBA stars. Gunna, despite being relatively new to stardom, has developed relationships with the league and its superstars.

The charting rapper was one of the artists that performed during the 2022 All-Star weekend in Cleveland. Others who made the billing include DJ Khaled, Mary J. Blige, Lil Wayne, Migos, and more.

Outside of being called upon by the league, Gunna has a relationship with one of the greatest players in league history. He was a guest on LeBron James' "The Shop," and explained what his song "Pushing P" meant.

It has been a slow start for Leonard, who has been on the sidelines for an extended period. The LA Clippers forward missed the entire 2021-22 season due to a knee injury.

Although his return was one of the most anticipated in the league, he is yet to hit his stride. Of the 31 games the Clippers have featured in, Leonard has suited up for only ten.

The Clippers are being overly cautious with his return and are making sure he does not relapse. Although his minutes are starting to come up, there are still restrictions.

Leonard is averaging 13.7 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 3.5 assists this season. He was rested during their most recent loss against the Phoenix Suns.

Coming into the season, the Clippers were considered championship contenders. However, they are ranked 8th in the Western Conference standings (17-14).

Nonetheless, the Clippers remain one of the most dangerous teams in the league when fully healthy. Their star players (Leonard and Paul George) also realize their window to win a championship is closing. They have been together for over three years and never made it past the conference finals.
