Testers threw around words like “stiff” and “unforgiving” as though the Scott Slight 93 was built with tons of Titanal. Spoiler: There is only a small plate underfoot for mounting bindings. The Slight 93 derives its stiffness from elliptical carbon and aramid laminates, as well as a full-length composite wood core. Add in a relatively tight turn radius, and these bad boys can make full-grown men quake in their ski boots.
The clean arc provided by the Scott Slight 93 was noted by some as a bit of a one-trick pony on groomed terrain, but still a great trick nonetheless. Testers with enough drive to take them off the corduroy found a pleasant swing weight that was manageable in bumps but slightly sluggish in the trees. A little bit of soft snow did wonders for waking up a little extra spark in the ski. “Fun to load and plenty of platform to stand on,” notes rookie tester Otto Gibbons. “The ski needs to be driven, however, someone standing centered is going to fight the ski more often than not.”
Scott‘s fishnet-like carbon weave that’s visible through the topsheet adds plenty of damp stability, despite the somewhat floppy-looking rocker in the tip and tail. The Slight 93 is still happy to cruise when legs get tired. “On groomed terrain, the ski had strong edge hold and could arc multiple turn shapes across the fall line,” notes tester Jon Sexauer. “For stronger skiers this is a great frontside option that opens the door to getting off piste wide open without requiring too much input from the skier, making it a suitable platform to grow from.”

Scott Slight 93 – 2021 Men’s Frontside Ski Review
Lacking the huge amount of Titanal found in most of the other skis in this category, the poppy Scott Slight 93 understandably earned the highest category score for Playfulness. These are all-mountain frontside skis designed to be capable at every ski area in North America and remain versatile enough to take on backcountry conditions. Testers were especially impressed by this ski’s maneuverability and liveliness at Taos.
STRENGTHS: Playfulness, Quickness
WEAKNESSES: Crud Performance, Hard-Snow Integrity
