Milwaukee Brewers Ace Prospect Does Something Only Four Players Have Ever Accomplished

The legend of Milwaukee Brewers prospect Jackson Chourio continues to grow.

As the Milwaukee Brewers zero in on a National League Central crown in 2023, the future continues to look bright as well.

Brewers mega-prospect Jackson Chourio, the No. 2 prospect in all of baseball, just made history down on the farm and could have a chance to join the Brewers early on in 2024.

Per Kyle Glaser of Baseball America:

Only four teenagers have posted a 20-home run, 40-stolen base season in the minors.

Ronald Acuña Jr.

Andruw Jones

Alex Escobar

And now Jackson Chourio.

That's elite company and an incredible accomplishment for the 19-year-old Chourio. While most of the teenage hype right now is about Baltimore Orioles prospect Jackson Holliday, Chourio is making his own waves.

Chourio played in the Futures Game this year during All-Star week and has hit .282 across Double-A and Triple-A this year (where he was just promoted to). He has 22 home runs, 90 RBI and 43 stolen bases.

Per his MLB.com prospect profile:

Chourio brings multiple at least plus tools to the table. His 70-grade speed is perhaps the loudest, and it was a big reason why Milwaukee moved him to center field, where he could cover even more ground than shortstop. What’s more, his contact at the plate is loud and capable of playing everywhere in the park. Brewers officials were often awestruck at how the right-handed slugger thumped the ball to right almost as easily as he did to left.

The Brewers are 86-66 and lead the National League Central by 7.0 games.
