Using a fabric tape measure, obtain body measurements as follows and compare to the size chart below.
BUST: Measure around your body at fullest part of bust, keeping tape under arms and fairly level front to back. Larger busted women will have a more accurate reading if bra is worn during measurement.
WAIST: Measure around your natural waistline holding the tape comfortably loose.
HIPS: Stand with heels together. Measure around hips at fullest part (approx. 9″ below waist).

We have kept the original Dixie Belle panty sizing, which fits a little smaller than Shadowline panties. Once you know your Shadowline panty size (check our size chart at the top of the page if you’re unsure), you can use the comparison chart below to find your equivalent size in Dixie Belle:
Additional sizing tips:
- Bust measurements are more important for full slips, camisoles and garments with loose, flowing bottoms such as nightgowns or sleepshirts.
- Hip measurements are more important for garments with closer fitting bottoms like slips, pajamas and panties.
- If one of your measurements falls in a larger size or you prefer very loose garments, you may be more comfortable in selecting a larger size.
- Shadowline sizes garments for generous comfort. If you prefer your clothing form fitting, you may want to order a smaller size.
- Slip lengths (full and half slips) are measured from the waist down – nightgowns and sleepshirts are measured from the shoulder down.
- Bra size is NOT the same thing as bust size. Generally, you can convert by adding bra band size (i.e., 34, 36, etc.) to cup size in inches (A=1″, B=2″, C=3″, D=4″, DD=5″). For example, a 34C Bra size = 37″ Bust measurement. Measuring your body is the most accurate method for sizing.

The green 1 and the pink 1 were different sizes. The seam under the breasts were 2 inches lower on 1 side. The 3x is more like a 2x compared to their gowns and the camisole is more like a 1x.

It has been a long, long, time since I bought a lacy full slip, lacy half slip or lacy camisole from Shadowline. Like most companies who sell slips today, they have gone to minimal or almost no lace, which I will just not buy. I grew up at a time when women wore nylon full slips, camisoles, and half slips and all of them had sexy lace around the bodice and hem. I still love that look. So, when I saw the Rochelle satin full slip (mint), I knew I had to buy one. Since I had not bought one in a long time from them, I fell for the trap of ordering what I thought would work based upon their size chart. Do not do so! Like most, they run small, and I ended up having to pay to ship my return and then pay for shipping to receive my replace Rochelle slip in a larger size. Very costly! So much so, that I will mostly likely be waiting for a BOGO sale before I buy another one because it was that costly. But yesterday, I wore my mint Rochelle satin full slip for the first time, and I absolutely loved it. The sexy lace at the bodice is wonderful, and I love the three sets of lace in the front hem, although I would love to see a bit more lace around the entire hem. I love how silky it feels when I wear it. So much so that I actually slept in my slip last night because I wanted to wear it a bit long. It is now one of my favorites. So, if you have not bought a slip from Shadowline in a while, check out the Rochelle satin slips. I hope they will bring back some of their other lacy slips from the past as well. In fact, I am writing this review to hopefully to convince other shoppers to buy one as it is simply lovely, and I hope this review will influence future product designs, and finally to show my appreciation to Shadowline/Velrose for bringing back something that is timeless.

Ordered 3X. Quality is good,and the material is very nice. Wife is short and on the round side. The slip was tight around the waste. Seems like on the X sizes the garments, an A-line style would be better. At least in certain body types. All in all this Slip/Nightgown is very beautiful and good quality.

This new slip is gorgeous! I got the blush and mint colors and love love love it. It’s soft, satiny, silky and very flattering. It hit about mid thigh on me. The blush and mint colors are very pretty. I wore it all day under a maxi dress and it did not ride up or twist, but stayed in place and was comfortable all day. My only complaint is that they don’t have a longer full slip that would go to mid calf or longer. Don’t miss this piece, it is totally worth it!
