MEK-4 Antibody (G-7) is an IgG1 κ mouse monoclonal MEK-4 antibody (also designated MKK4 antibody or MEKKK 4 antibody) that detects the MEK-4 protein of mouse, rat and human origin by WB, IP, IF, IHC(P) and ELISA. MEK-4 Antibody (G-7) is available as both the non-conjugated anti-MEK-4 antibody form, as well as multiple conjugated forms of anti-MEK-4 antibody, including agarose, HRP, PE, FITC and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. A family of protein kinases located upstream of the MAP kinases and responsible for their activation has been identified. The prototype member of this family, designated MAP kinase kinase, or MEK-1, specifically phosphorylates the MAP kinase regulatory threonine and tyrosine residues present in the Thr-Glu-Tyr motif of ERK. A second MEK family member, MEK-2, resembles MEK-1 in its substrate specificity. MEK-3 (or MKK-3) functions to activate p38 MAP kinase, and MEK-4 (also called SEK1 or MKK-4) activates both p38 and JNK MAP kinases. MEK-5 appears to specifically phosphorylate ERK5, whereas MEK-6 phosphorylates p38 and p38b. MEK-7 (or MKK-7) phosphorylates and activates the JNK signal transduction pathway.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-376838 P appropriate for?

Asked by: Germaine
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Potent and very specific antibodyThis monoclonal antibody was independently tested in-house by Kinexus Bioinformatics Corporation and validated for use for Western blotting. There was medium detection of the ~45 kDa target protein in mouse tissues (brain/testes/thymus/muscle mix). No major cross-reactivities were observed at 2 µg/ml antibody concentration with off-target proteins in the mouse tissues tested.
