      Chris B Feels like a next generation home improvement. It has it's moments and it doesn't take itself seriously. Jim plays a buffoon on purpose and anyone that takes it seriously is one also. It's a comedy sitcom and it's a fairly good show if your not easily offended by how things were in the late 90's early 00's. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/22/23 Full Review Morskyia My husband randomly started watch reruns of this on Netflix or Hulu and I am again reminded how much I hate this show. Jim is a selfish a$$h0l3 and is always thinking of himself first. Does he learn a lesson or something in the end, maybe or maybe not but who cares because there is no character growth. How many lessons in 7 seasons can one learn but come back every episode and still be the same jerk. The second issue is, that as a couple, they are always trying to prove they are right or one up the other. In the show it's light hearted "sparring" but it gets old fast. Feels homely, old fashioned now. The Acting is fairly decent because the cast is strong. Kimberly Williams is the beauty from the 10th kingdom so I can't even judge her for appearing here. Their asexual tension with Belushi became the centerpiece of the show's comedic punch. The writing was mediocre at first and by season 3 it really hits the skids. I have no idea how the show managed to survive for 8 seasons. Nonetheless, somehow it is also cathartic and optimistic because things tend to work out every time instead of - like in Friends or How I met your mother - simply falling apart.
