Juliano A Mostly boring. but not a terrible movie. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 04/26/24 Full Review cbcguy Suspenseful horror movie, Unfriended walked so Host could run. The movie is pretty short, wish it was about 20 minutes longer and the ending is something that's been done a million times, seemed like they didn't know how else to end it. Other than the ending that's been overdone this was a great movie that had real tension and suspense and some good scares. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 04/08/24 Full Review ryan m Legit, starts off a bit "cheesy, where's this going?" but can guarantee it is worth the wait. Hands down one of the scariest films I have seen in a while. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/11/24 Full Review Guy M I thought this one was okay. I was kept interested the entire time and the movie really picks up and stays at an even pace and the creative ways of death were fun and I really laughed how they feared the outside more than a Demon in their homes. I enjoy found footage and the more modern camera styles and these types of movies are why. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 12/05/23 Full Review Ioana G The lst scene definitelly creeped me out the most! Overall, it was a good scare, but the story isn't anything special. Some parts of the story were predictable Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 11/26/23 Full Review John C Probably the best found footage movie since The Blair Witch. Highly recommend it. Randy Myers San Jose Mercury News An effective shocker for our quarantine times. Rated: 3/4 Feb 7, 2021 Full Review Adam Nayman Sight & Sound For what it is, it works. Feb 7, 2021 Full Review Philip De Semlyen Time Out Until someone makes a film about a haunted sourdough starter, this ingenious horror movie will remain the zeitgeistiest thing to emerge from lockdown. Rated: 4/5 Dec 5, 2020 Full Review Elisa Guimarães Collider Tense and full of jumpscares, Host deals with themes such as social anxiety and the fear of isolation. It was a terrifying watch during the height of the pandemic but still lands its punch to this day. Feb 1, 2024 Full Review Akos Peterbencze Frame Rated (Medium) ...in a genre that’s challenging enough itself with various forms (see also the brilliantly written and shocking 2018 masterpiece Searching), Host took advantage of a global pandemic in a delicious way. Jul 26, 2023 Full Review Jessica Scott Nightmarish Conjurings Host is an innovative, timely, and terrifying Zoom-based horror film that mines classic found footage tropes for fresh new scares and uses technological and logistical limitations to its advantage.
