Gracie is a 10-year-old female cat who has had a rough life. She started out as a stray and was being taken care of by an elderly woman. When the woman passed away, her son kicked Gracie out of the house. A kind elderly neighbor took her in when she noticed Gracie was on the street and hungry. The neighbor already had 5 cats and Gracie joined the family easily with no drama. When the neighbor had to move in with her family for health reasons, she wasn't allowed to take all her cats with her. She had to make a painful decision to give up Gracie and 13-year-old Tigger.

Gracie is a shy and timid girl but very sweet and docile. She did not have a lot of human interactions, but she is learning to trust and enjoys being petted and brushed.
Gracie came to the rescue with a bad ear infection that hadn't been treated for a long time. The constant scratching and shaking resulted in a cauliflower ear. It caused the scar tissue to form and the ear flap to shrink. Her infection is all cleared now, and she only needs a bi-weekly ear rinse and ear drops to keep her ears clean. She is very easy to handle and tolerates the ear rinse. After the treatment, she forgives you right away and will come to sit with you.

When we did a blood test on her, the vet recommended that she should be on an early kidney disease prevention diet. She is on Hill's prescription diet called K/D Early Support.

Gracie and Tigger are a bonded pair and should be adopted together. Gracie constantly seeks comfort from Tigger. When Gracie doesn't know where Tigger is, she cries and Tigger will come running to her. When we first took them in, they slept in a small cat condo lying on top of each other. They are always sitting and sleeping together.

Grace needs someone who is patient and can work with her to gain her trust and love. Tigger and Gracie will thrive in a quiet home. They are not good with children or dogs. They are good with non-territorial cats.

Gracie is spayed, vaccinated, FELV tested, dewormed, microchipped, eats wet and dry food, and is litterbox perfect.

Purebreds Plus Cat Rescue is dedicated to matching exceptional cats with qualified adopters who will cherish their pet and create an ideal forever home.

NOTE: We prefer families with children bring them to the adoption appointment. Why? This allows interaction between the children and the cat. This helps ensure they will be a good fit for each other. A mismatch between a child and a cat is not in anyone's best interests!

Purebreds Plus Cat Rescue (www.purebredsplus.org), serving Northern California, San Francisco Bay Area, and Northern Nevada, is dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and rehoming of purebred cats, kittens, and other exceptional felines. We are a 501 (c)3 non profit rescue group. Most of our beautiful felines come from Northern California Animal Shelters. One of our goals is to keep purebred cats from ever ending up in a shelter. We are happy to help you if you need to rehome your purebred cat. Often, we can offer advice if your cat is having behavioral problems, and you may end up keeping the cat. We do NOT ship cats. We will place cats out of area but you must arrange to come and meet your new friend in person.
