The vacant Seaside Heights nightclub Karma, made famous on MTV’s hit show “Jersey Shore,” was demolished Wednesday in preparation for the property’s new life as a much tamer mixed-use condo development.
Demolition crews made quick work of tearing down the sprawling entertainment complex, video of the destruction showed.
Located at 401 Boulevard, the former Karma nightclub was frequented by Snooki, “The Situation” and other colorful “Jersey Shore” cast members. Their drunken revelry on the reality show brought notoriety to the club and the Jersey Shore in general.
Several cast members shared their thoughts after hearing that the dance club was being demolished.
Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi posted a video of herself on TikTok pretending to cry over the news, jokingly writing in the caption that her “hoop earrings are still in the bathroom.”
Fellow cast member Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino wrote “We got a Situation” on X in response to a video of the nightclub’s demolition.
Jenni “JWoww” Farley also reposted a video of the dance club’s demolition to her Instagram story, writing “Rip” with a tombstone emoji.
Karma nightclub was shut down in 2018 after its liquor license was revoked following reports of underage drinking. The building has been vacant ever since.
Earlier this year, MODE Architects received approval to build a new mixed-use development on the site.
The proposed building will have 36 condo units, an indoor pool, rooftop observation deck and three lower level retail units, according to company plans.
The “Jersey Shore” cast just wrapped filming “Jersey Shore: Family Vacation” this winter. The show was recently renewed for its seventh season, which is slated to premiere in 2024.
