Ivan and Chris visited the the tent for Progressive Genetics at last week's National Ploughing Championships. Farmers are increasingly using artificial insemination and breeding programmes to improve the genetics of their beef and dairy herds. Rose Goulding from the National Cattle Breeding Centre explained that their aim is to ensure the best quality herds possible. The centre's number one bull inseminated 40,000 cows last year.
