Instagram influencer Zervaan Bunshah expressed his dissatisfaction with Lay's for reducing spiciness and his viral rant has struck a chord with many.

The long debate over the best Lay’s chips flavour continues and for many, magic masala holds a special place in their hearts. However, in recent weeks, people noticed that the company reduced the spiciness of these beloved chips and even received criticism from many. Now, in a humorous twist, a popular Instagram influencer Zervaan Bunshah took to the platform to express his dissatisfaction with Lay’s for this flavour adjustment and his viral rant has resonated with many. While Lay’s gave him a quick response, it was Bingo that made a positive impression.

In the initial video, the content creator angrily said, “What the heck is this, what have you done to my magic masala, the magic is no longer there, now it is meetha masala. This is the worst thing that you could have possibly done, are you out of your mind, this is my junk food and this is one time in life I get to enjoy. The world enjoyed magic masala and now you have made it into a vegetarian Gujarati jevu shak (Guajarati vegetable gravy) flavour. Normally we creators promote stuff, I’m demoting this, how dare you, this deserves in the dust bin.” Sharing the video, Bunshah wrote, “MAGIC MASALA? MORE LIKE TRAGIC MASALA. Does our loyalty mean nothing to you?”

Lay’s social media team acted swiftly soon after Zervaan Bunshah’s video went viral. They assured him that the original Magic Masala will be back very soon. Sending a direct message on Instagram, the company wrote, “We understand that India’s Magic Masala has been your favorite, and you want the magic back. This pack was a limited edition and we intend to add more joy to the lives of our consumers. So, don’t worry, we have your back! India’s Magic Masala is coming back.”

Watching Zervaan Bunshah’s video, Bingo saw an opportunity and made a bold move. They offered the Instagrammer a generous amount of their spicy chips. In an Instagram video, a Bingo spokesperson is seen eating a bag of Bingo Spicy Masala Chips, while in the background workers are seen loading cartons of snacks into a truck. As a gesture of appreciation, the company announced that they would send a whole truckload of their chips to Zervaan, all he needed to do was share his address.

At the end of the video, the hoarding in the truck read, “Dear Bunshah, here’s a truck full of masala chips that’s spicy and not sweet. Just the way you like it. With love from Bingo.” In response to this delightful surprise, Bunshah humorously replied, “HAHAHAHAHA. Chips maang raha tha. (I was asking for some chips).”

Although there’s no confirmation whether Bunshah received a truck filled with Bingo chips, the content creator did confirm that he had spoken with Lay’s team. They agreed to bring back the original Magic Masala flavour within a few weeks.
