Chisinau, 29 May /MOLDPRES/ -The Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office has submitted six requests on levying distraint upon the assets, whose real beneficiary is Vladimir Plahotniuc, to the Chisinau municipality’s Court, Ciocana headquarters. The magistrates admitted only one of the six requests submitted by prosecutors and ordered levying distraint upon ten real estate units and namely six apartments and four non-habitable rooms in Moldova, estimated at about 33 million lei.
According to the Prosecutor General’s Office (PG), the other five requests, under which prosecutors were demanding the seizure of the country houses from Switzerland, France and Romania, five touring cars and a boat (registered in Switzerland), as well as four touring cars (registered in Moldova), worth 7.7 million euros, were turned down.
„The list of properties was identified by the Crime Assets Recovery Agency, which established that, although all of them are registered by third persons, their real beneficiary is citizen Vladimir Plahotniuc,’’ PG’s sources said.
The Prosecutor’s General Office will appeal the decision of the law court and will insist on the seizure of all movable assets and real estate, the real beneficiary of which is citizen Plahotniuc.
