But first....let me take a selfie: Yabbra flashes a wink (

A fun-loving koala renowned for its BEAR-faced cheek - and love of selfies - is celebrating its 10th birthday today.

Yabbra, who lives at RZSS (Royal Zoological Society of Scotland) Edinburgh Zoo, marked reaching the milestone with an extra helping of eucalyptus, reports STV.

The super-cute marsupial, native to Australia, was born on June 17, 2005, and arrived at in Edinburgh from Lisbon Zoo, Portugal, around two years later.

But he found fame earlier this year when he was caught snapping selfies - even flashing a cheeky wink in one - after special handheld cameras were placed in his enclosure.

The HTC Re devices were dropped into the koalas' pen by zookeepers who wanted to capture candid and spontaneous moments.

And Yabbra seemed desperate to prove he isn't shy.

The HTC Re devices were selected because they can be operated by touch. In this case, Yabbra was able to take pictures by touching the sensor with his paws.

And he snapped a series of hilarious selfies.

But it wasn't the first time he'd showed his playful side.

In 2012, the adorable animal gave handlers the slip and set off on an impromptu run around the zoo's corridors after his weigh-in.

Yabbra's name is Aboriginal for 'the fugitive' and was given to him because he had a reputation for escaping from his mother's pouch from a very young age.

Today, he's one of only four koalas in the UK, all of whom live in Edinburgh.
