Item Description

Micro, well-formed foliated orange crystal groups of the rare vanadate, Carnotite can be seen on the bottom edge of this specimen associated with soft green Chrysocolla. The species was named after Marie-Adolphe Carnot in 1899. Carnot was a professor at the School of Mines in Paris and later became the Dean of the school in the early 20th century. This piece is obviously a micro specimen, and we've photographed it with a Canon MP-E 65 mm macro lens to better illustrate the quality. These are not common on the market from the Mashamba West Mine, and this is a great opportunity to pick up a piece of this attractive and hard to find material for your micro collection.
