Trend | 2024 FASHION TREND: QUIET LUXURY

Fashion is always a process of constant repetition, with trends replacing each other. The Y2k style of the millennial generation, the retro chic of the 70s, sporty leisurewear, and minimalism have all been popular and repeated over time. In 2024, "Quiet luxury" continues to dominate! From the Gucci, Balenciaga, and Loro Piana Spring/Summer 2024 collections, you can see that designers have transformed sets of clothing into simple, clean, yet incredibly stylish silhouettes.

In 2023, a low-key luxurious style called "Quiet Luxury" instantly took over the fashion industry. It departed from the extravagant and complicated colors, capturing the hearts of fashionistas with a gentle and understated high-quality feel. It has remained popular until now and has even become a major trend in 2024. Neutral colors and clean cuts are the theme, without attention-seeking designs and exaggerated logos. It is made with high-quality fabrics, emphasizing exquisite craftsmanship and attention to detail, creating a quiet yet sophisticated sense of luxury. This trend has spread worldwide, with many celebrities attending major fashion weeks and events in the "Quiet Luxury" style.

In the past, if you wanted to identify a brand on a single item, the most straightforward way was through the logo, or by recognizing the cut and iconic design on the item. However, a minimalist trend seems to have emerged at the 2024 Spring/Summer Fashion Week. One brand that stands out for abandoning logos is Bottega Veneta. Matthieu Blazy has designed several seemingly simple yet highly detailed timeless pieces, such as a white vest and jeans. Brand ambassador Shu Qi attended the Bottega Veneta 2024 Summer Collection fashion show, wearing a simple white vest paired with a gray plaid suit, creating an effortless and refined look.

After Maximilian Davis took over as creative director of FERRAGAMO in 2022, the brand has undergone a complete transformation. Not only did the debut establish the iconic color scheme, but the clothing silhouettes showcased at the 2024 Spring/Summer Fashion Week also leaned towards a sleek and elegant style. The tailored designs are very fashionable, and even incorporated armor elements in the final few sets, injecting a mixed-material technique into everyday wear and showcasing the perfect balance between harmony and tension

Gucci's Spring/Summer 2024 Fashion Week is Sabato De Sarno's first show as creative director. He has moved away from the previous maximalist style and returned to the minimalist spirit of the 1960s, incorporating the sensuality of Tom Ford in the 1990s. The collection tells a story of feeling at home while traveling the world. It boldly injects a hint of retro, understated sensuality, and stability with the "Ancora Rosso Red" color into the pieces. It is said that the fashion industry will return to basics and minimalism will take the lead!

SAINT LAURENT, known for its consistent sensuality, simplicity, and sleekness, is also one of the representative brands of Quiet luxury. In the Spring/Summer 2024 collection, the brand removes the extravagant colors, metallic elements, and embroidered lace, opting for a minimalist aesthetic and a return to basics. The collection is dominated by hunting attire and utility jumpsuits, with everyday styles not lacking the influence of high-end tailored clothing. The clothing lines appear much looser in silhouette, perfectly creating a casual, handsome, and sexy confidence in women.

On the same stage, Quiet luxury, Hailey Bieber is definitely one of the representatives. She wears a black backless fitted dress with subtle details, outlining her graceful curves. Australian supermodel Abbey Lee also pairs a plaid suit with a deep U-neck leather vest, perfectly showcasing a low-key luxury feel with square sunglasses and bold red lips.

Balenciaga's Spring 2024 collection is composed of two chapters. The Garde-Robe series, in particular, lacks obvious brand logos and instead focuses on designs that are highly recognizable to the brand, emphasizing the original intention of clothing making, as well as paying more attention to tailoring and fabrics. Additionally, there is a focus on a ready-to-wear collection that prioritizes daily practicality, with the core design inspired by people's everyday habits. This shift towards a quiet luxury route can be seen even in brands that were previously more focused on trends.

Quiet luxury is synonymous with the original brand, Ralph Lauren! Mr. Ralph Lauren has always been dedicated to creating a beautiful concept and a luxurious and leisurely lifestyle. The top Purple Label collection focuses on high quality, meticulous tailoring, and advanced craftsmanship. Each garment insists on using the finest fabrics from Italy. In the 2024 Spring Fashion Show, several close-fitting evening gowns that depict body curves can be seen. They may appear simple, but they are made with luxurious fabrics and delicate tailoring techniques.

The last one to mention is Loro Piana, a representative brand of Quiet luxury. This Italian brand, which started with top-quality cashmere, releases clean and warm cashmere fabrics every season. Loro Piana's 2024 Spring/Summer collection presents a set of timeless and elegant silhouettes with a modern sense of linear structure. It features beautifully curved kimono made from top-quality fabrics, showcasing the diversity of styles, colors, and fabrics that recreate traditional Japanese craftsmanship and innovative technology.
