Growing up isn’t easy, growing old is

‘Growing up’ & ‘Growing old’ are two different things.

Though heavily associated with one another, growing old doesn’t only applying to years spent alive. This article focuses more on mentality rather than age.

Mentally, to grow up has nothing to do with your age. It is everything about your thinking pattern and cause/course of actions. Growing old on the other hand is restraining or no longer having the ability to learn or accept new things.

A 25-year-old who has to be yelled at to get their butts off their parents’ couch, go out there, get a job, get a friend, start a relationship and start living a life is a perfect example of a person who grew old and didn’t grow up. And a 15-year-old who does all these without being yelled at to do so is a example of a person who grew up and hasn’t even grown old.

We can simply put, growing up is about knowing and taking up responsibilities and means of handling them. While growing old is sticking with an outdating method of tackling old and new problems or not tackling them at all.

Grow up, don’t grow old
