· Undergraduate (UG) level

Candidates have to clear the 10+2 examination, including Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM). Above all, candidates should score a minimum of 50-60% marks in PCM.

· Postgraduate (PG) level

M.Tech candidates having the same specialization in electronics should score a minimum of 60% marks in the primary subjects. Candidates about to give the final examination or waiting for the results are also eligible for ECE.

· Diploma

Interested candidates should complete their 10+2 in the science stream where Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics are the mandatory subjects. Later, candidates have to pursue a polytechnic diploma (3 years).

Some colleges offer admissions based on a merit basis and Personal Interview (PI) at the UG level. Majorly, aspirants have to crack the JEE Mains, KCET, WBJEE examinations for the admission procedure. Some colleges even conduct their own admission procedure for selecting the right candidates.

Many universities also accept the scores generated by state-level engineering entrance examinations. At the UG level, candidates can either go for B.Tech or B.E. Electrical and Electronics Engineering. Some institutes conduct direct admission, and some select students based on their scores generated in the competitive examinations like JEE Mains, BITSAT. Direct admission is made based on the marks scored in the 10+2.

· PG Level

Candidates should have a B.Tech or BE degree with a minimum aggregate of 60%. The major entrance examination you should qualify for is GATE. For admission to first-rate universities like IIT, students are selected based on their GATE marks.
