It was fantastic to welcome Iztok Grmek, Slovenia’s Ambassador to Switzerland, to our Ljubljana office to tour our new, state-of-the-art facility, meet our tech teams and CEO Carsten Koerl, and learn how Sportradar is changing the way the world experiences sport. The Ambassador was accompanied by Miha Rössler from the Department of Bilateral Economic Cooperation and Dr. Slobodan Šešum from the Directorate for Economic and Public Diplomacy. Thank you to everyone for making the visit a success!

Today is #EuropeDay. 73 years ago, on 9 May 1950, the Schuman Declaration was signed. It was an ambitious plan to secure long-term peace in post-war Europe and is considered the starting point for the EU as we know it. 📣 Today, we celebrate a United Europe that strives for democracy, freedom, and peace. #EIPA continues to be dedicated to Europe - its member states, institutions, and citizens. We asked our team what Europe means to them, see their answers in our video➡️ https://lnkd.in/ef-Gu4bh What is #Europe for you?
Happy Europe's Day from the EIPA team

#EuropeDay and the week-long celebration- reflects the resilience of the European People. On May 9, the European Union celebrated the "Europe Day", a day that has become a symbol over the years and that sees, for the occasion, celebrations and activities that can bring Europe closer to its citizens and the peoples of the European Union to each other. A difficult year for Europe, still marked by the pandemic and the consequences of the economic crisis, but also an opportunity to rediscover a new European solidarity and the common will to look to the future.
Europe Day may have passed, but the spirit of unity lives on every day 🇪🇺💙 Throughout the week, we celebrated our shared European values with events across our Union and beyond. At the heart of it all was the 🇪🇺 flag, a symbol of our identity and unity. Did you know that we even made it visible from the sky? Check out this impressive giant flag unfurled in the Plaça Sant Jaume in Barcelona, Spain on 9 May. Many thanks to the European Commission Representation in Barcelona for sharing the video with us. #EuropeDay #EuropeanUnion

As a C-level executive I've managed Mega-Projects incl. FIFA World Cups, delivering multiple stadiums simultaneously and managing diverse teams. Passionate for global sporting events & complex unique projects.
More nations should invest in overseas stadium construction and support world events. In my view, this is one of the best strategies to strengthen diplomatic ties, boost tourism, and unlock various other economic benefits for host countries. China has successfully done this for years. By supporting both this year's and previous editions of the African Cup of Nations, it has established strong ties with Africa and strengthened its hand when bidding for other events. Noteworthy projects include the Bafoussam Omnisport Stadium in Cameroon and the Alassane Ouattara Olympic Stadium in Cote d'Ivoire – set to host the 2024 AFCON final. In financing and constructing these arenas, China has not only underscored its technological prowess, but has also contributed significantly to local economies by creating jobs and attracting people to these regions. But moreover, by investing in world-class venues, nations have the opportunity to bring major sports events to regions where it might not have been possible before. And this to me, is hugely exciting! #stadiums🏟️ #sportsevents #infrastructure #collaboration🌐

Recently mapped out my thoughts and vision for what Russia's blueprint for impact in Africa could look like, how to make the upcoming Russia-Africa Summit productive and how much ground we were able to cover since the pilot event 4 years ago. Thank you to the wonderful team at the Valdai Club for the chance to reflect, write and speak in such good company!
