"Educator | Aspiring Training Specialist | Eager to Bring Classroom Expertise to Corporate Learning Initiatives"
Two TED talks that inspired me today - 1) https://lnkd.in/gbcSQeha I was totally able to relate to her. After leaving a corporate job, I joined an even more demanding job - "teaching". She made me understand that learning was not just about IQ but also about motivation and that's why, you also need to be a psychologist at a basic level to be a teacher. The one who would be successful does not depend on good looks, good skills, high IQ or esteemed graduates, but it was all about grit - the willingness to not give up. Take up your best ideas, measure them, if they don't work out - start over again. I love the way she concludes - We need to be gritty for our kids to be grittier! 2) https://lnkd.in/gc36GWFG This gave me the insight how every teacher can inspire students. One thing every teacher has to remember - Kids don't learn from people they don't like. She showed that how things are so messed up sometimes, but something as small as "a smiley face on a fail paper" would empower the child more than we can imagine. There might be times, that we might find a particular learner challenging. But, do we have to show them that dislike? ABSOLUTELY NOT!!! Every kid has to be felt like they are liked.
