TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) - A wild fox found near the Desert Museum in Tucson tested positive for rabies on Saturday, April 13.

After multiple similar rabies cases around the Tucson Mountain Park region in recent weeks, the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum asked locals to be cautious around wildlife.

They advised to never approach, handle, or feed wild animals.

Several possibly rabid animal incidents have been reported throughout Southern Arizona in recent months.

A woman attacked by a presumed rabid fox in late March talked with 13 News about the incident. The story can be watched below.

Jorie O’Brien was attacked by a possibly rabid gray fox while hiking on Mount Lemmon on Thursday, March 28.
