The post reads in part, "Hello Des Moines, This is your weather my (expletive)."

The weather channel's parent company Allen Media Group sent KCCI a statement that reads, "A graphic during our 'Local on the 8s' presentation in Des Moines last evening included a racial slur. We removed the graphic as soon as we learned of it. This did not generate at the weather channel and we are in the process of investigating it further. We apologize to our viewers."

But for at least one viewer who saw the slur on social media, the damage is already done.

"I find it disgusting, hurtful everything under the board. And I think everybody should feel that way. Even people who are not of minority descent," said Eriona Broadus.

The Allen Media Group added in its statement, "We are continuing to investigate and don't have any additional comment at this time."
