The neighbours said they were not sure how the fire broke out. According to local sources, the father woke up early in the morning and went to a nearby field.

When he returned home, he noticed smoke coming out of his house. He immediately started shouting, after which neighbours rushed to the spot and found out that the house was on fire. The father, with the help of neighbours, broke open the door of the house and found the three siblings lying on the floor inside their room amid the fire.

The officials from the Faridpur police station sent the bodies for post-mortem and launched a case of unnatural death. The preliminary report of the post-mortem report can ascertain the facts, said the police.

According to an eyewitness, Mangal Soren received maximum burn injury. However, it is still a mystery why the trio couldn't come out of the room when the house caught fire, the eyewitness added.

According to a neighbour, Sadhan Tudu, the family has a good reputation in the locality. The mysterious death of the siblings has daunted the area.

During the interrogation, a neighbour said that Mangal was a civic volunteer at Loudoha police station. Sumi was a nurse at a nursing home in Kolkata, and that she returned home a couple of weeks ago.

The other sister, Sukumni lived at the same home with her brother and father, added the neighbour. Their father, Hopna Soren is an ex-ECL worker, and their mother died a few years ago.
