Leo beats Vikram at worldwide Box Office: Leo is on a dream run at the worldwide Box Office. It has already emerged as the biggest film for Thalapathy Vijay and is slowly moving towards becoming the biggest Tamil film at the global Box Office. By the end of its fifth day, Leo surpassed Vikram to become the fourth highest-grossing film from Kollywood. As reported by the trade website sacnilk, the Lokesh Kanagaraj directorial collected more than the lifetime earnings of the Kamal Haasan starrer and achieved the feat in just five days.

Vikram, which was also directed by Lokesh as part of his LCU – Lokesh Cinematic Universe – the first of its kind in the South Indian film industry, collected Rs 415 crore gross in its lifetime at the worldwide Box Office. By the end of Monday, Leo surpassed that number and grossed around Rs 415.50 crore. And now, with the Dussehra holiday on Tuesday, the film showed fantastic growth and crossed the benchmark of Rs 450 crore gross worldwide.

Leo, which also stars Trisha Krishnan and Sanjay Dutt in important roles, became the fastest film Tamil film to reach Rs 400 crore. It did this in just five days, beating Rajinikanth’s 2.0 which was the previous record-holder by collecting Rs 400 crore in six days. It is the first film for Vijay in the Rs 400 crore club and will be his first in the Rs 500 crore club as well. What else? Well, Leo is likely to cross the huge benchmark of Rs 500 crore by the end of Friday after which it will only be the third Tamil film in the club after 2.0 and Jailer – both of which star Rajinikanth.

While Leo seems solid at the worldwide Box Office, its real test will begin from Wednesday after which its performance will determine if it would be able to breach past 2.0‘s Rs 723 crore and Jailer‘s Rs 605 crore at the worldwide Box Office or not.
