Leaves: oppositely arranged, evergreen, round to egg shaped, ½-¾ inch long, waxy surface, smooth edges, whitish midrib
Fruit/Seed: bright red berry, 1/3 inch diameter
Height: 4-12 inches
Flowering: June - July
Habitat: rich woods, rocky outcrops
