Product details
This sensor checks the air quality by monitoring harmful particles (PM2.5), temperature, relative humidity and total Volatile Organic Compounds (tVOC) in your home.
Place it in the living room, bedroom, or other rooms where you spend a lot of time. With its small size, you can easily move it from room to room so you can rest assured that the air quality is good.
Upgrade your STARKVIND air purifier(s) by adding this sensor that offers more precise air quality measurements and can be placed in a central location in the room, away from the purifier.
By keeping an eye on things as harmful particles, temperature, humidity and volatile organic compounds you can affect the air quality at home and also help prevent for example mold and mildew growth.
The arrow shows if the level of tVOC is increasing, decreasing or is stable. tVOC stands for total volatile organic compounds from, for example, paint, cooking or cleaning and household products.
By connecting this product to DIRIGERA hub, you can see the air quality in the IKEA Home smart app. We make continuous updates so that the sensor and the app only get better and better over time.
With a smart home from IKEA, it's easy to create smarter everyday moments with lighting, speakers, blinds and air quality products.
Activities in the home like cooking, using an open fireplace, and aerosols can release harmful PM2.5 particles. They can also seep in from polluted outdoor air.
PM2.5 are small inhalable particles, that measure 0.1-2.5 micrometers.
This product is part of our smart home range. Connect it, along with other smart products, to DIRIGERA hub and IKEA Home smart app for more features and functions, that you can control from anywhere, not just when you're at home.

Reviews
Works well. Humidity on mine seems fine.Verified ReviewerUsing with Home assistant Zigbee. Works well. I actually use it as a humidistat and I'm pleased with it's performance. Also, it's fantastic to remind us to turn on the vent for the stove and oven. The VOC measurement is sort of worthless, but whatever. It's definitely not a calibrated, precision instrument, nor is it priced like one. Humidity sensors are hard to do for cheap, so the complaints from other reviewers don't hold much water with me. If you're running a laboratory, you should know better. If you're not, adjust your expectations. 5
Paired w/Starkvind air purifierMichaelI’m giving this product 3 stars for 2 reasons
1) tVOCs show on the display but you are unable to access this info in the product or in the IKEA Smart Home app
2) HomeKit integration is very good. However, I am unable to choose Auto as a setting in the Home app. I can only choose On/Off and adjust the fan level. I have to use the IKEA Smart Home app to set it back to Auto3
Fails to pair with DirigeraJAlas, I had high hopes, but this fails to pair with Dirigera base station, making it useless for automating things.
I've confirmed I have the latest firmware installed on the Dirigera base station. I've tried restarting both the base station and the Vindstyrka. I've tried pairing it multiple times. I get the blinking "pairing" icon, it then goes solid, but the Home Smart app just hangs at "Looking for sensors" no matter how many times I try.
Ikea makes many wonderful things, but this does not live up to the quality I'd expect.1
Useful little gadgetPaulNice stand alone gadget useful for any home. But also some back end smarts that allow for data tracking using both IKEA's eco system and 3rd party ones5
Fascinating to see this during Canadian wildfire plumeJohnThis is a robust little product that seems to be accurate. In my closed and conditioned house, it’s normally measuring almost no 2.5. When I bake for a couple of hours (electric oven, high temp), it registers about 180.
Yesterday and today I calibrated it against Apple Weather for my location. It was close last night. With my specific location and height above sea level in my creek valley, I got a credible reading of 625 with yellow skies, difficulty breathing, etc., consistent with downstream of a firestorm.
This product is fantastic. I wish I could sample automatically and regularly and download it to a spreadsheet.5
