Alessia Cara isn’t throwing away her shot.
Disney released a music video for “How Far I’ll Go,” the inspiring and oceanic anthem penned by the film’s composer Lin-Manuel Miranda. The video was directed by Aya Tanimura, who has worked with Katy Perry and Bea Miller.
The track from the Def Jam recording artist, of the radio hits “Scars to Your Beautiful” and “Wild Things,” will play during the film’s end credits.
“See the line where the sky meets the sea, it calls me / no one knows how far it goes,” she sings. “If the wind in my sail on the sea stays behind me / one day I’ll know / if I go there’s just no telling how far I’ll go.”
The animated adventure tale follows Moana Waialiki (voiced by newcomer Auli’i Cravalho), a young girl from the South Pacific who sets sail for a fabled island with the help of ancient demi-god Maui (Dwayne Johnson).
Moana, which will make its world premiere during AFI Fest, hits theaters Nov. 23.
