Opening of the Exhibition and Reception Angels - Lučka Koščak, sculptor (1957-2022) - in Cleveland, Ohio

to
Slovenian Museum and Archives, 6407 St. Clair Ave., Cleveland
Within the framework of the Slovenian Days in Cleveland 2022 we are inviting you to the opening of the exhibition of the Slovenian sculptor Lučka Koščak (1957 - 2022).

Opening will be followed by a reception. This is a free event.

The sculpture of Lučka Koščak is definitely something special inside the Slovenian Art space (and in general), because we can´t define it inside the context of either traditional or even less of modernistic or post-modernistic sculpture. To understand the essence of this sculpture we must immerge inside of us to reach the state similar to meditation which helps us to become inhabited by the feeling of love, calmness and peace that Koščak brings into her sculptures and, if we allow it, also into us. The purpose of her sculpture is to help us find our deep inner being – the one, which we had, in the chaos of the crazy world, long ago forgotten.

Peace that the sculptures express is not meant to be for them, but for us. The calmness that they shine with is not the calmness of timelessness, but the calmness of this very moment, that we live in. If they were the ones that looked eternal before, it´s now us who have become like that. Therefore, infinity is not the historical one (some external historical parameter), but intimate and loving acceptance of ourselves.
