I'm pregnant.

Just when I was starting to get used to being alone in my own head, now I’m possessed in a whole new way. And apparently, I’m an omega, which seems to be code for “magical thot who gets harassed by every alpha within a hundred miles.”

The worst part is, I don’t even know which one of these bloodthirsty douchebags knocked me up. With my luck, it’s probably Cameron, who sees me and the baby as a threat to his precious goddess, especially now that she’s gone MIA.

Weirdly enough, the news has caused a split within the cult, pitting brother against brother. Even though I thought they’d all be on the same side, now Sam, Cyrus, and (ugh) Alex claim they’ll do whatever it takes to protect me and the baby. Even if it means going up against Ichor and the rest of her cult.

Obviously, I don’t trust them. I might be a “dumb blond,” but I don’t need to get sacrificed twice to learn that lesson.

If only my traitorous heart would get the memo.

First, off, Chapter Eleven is titled incorrectly! It should read 'Cameron' and not 'Chase.'

Second... well my second is about to turn into a lot of thirds and fourths. I didn't like this one as much as the first, which is something I was prepared for, given the last 1/3rd of the first, but was still hoping it would turn out for the best.
Here are some of the basic plot points of the first book that I wanted to know more of:
1. The biggest BETRAYAL by the people closest to Chase.
2. A high-stakes REVENGE plan for Chase's own murder.
3. Chase finding himself with overwhelming, intense powers
4. Chase HELD CAPTIVE so his captors can protect the goddess inside him.

I knew we were in for a rocky start when the second book started and Chase was suddenly okay with being held captive; he had no future plans to escape or plans in general, all thoughts of vengeance lost. The first half of the book was mainly just sex, the whole time while I was thinking, 'hey, but didn't they...? and you're okay with that?" His thoughts and feelings towards the other characters were absent, as well as with his sudden pregnancy. The angst wasn't there, as well as the depth. WHERE DID THE PLOT GO?

Third, didn't THIS happen in the first book:

"You're not going to use magic without explicit permission from one of us. No self-serving spells of convenience."

He was compelled NOT to use magic, but now is suddenly able to in the second book?

Again, it was like all of the plot points that had originally intrigued me had vanished.

I did think the ending revelation was interesting, if a bit random. I think that the delivery should have been given to the reader in a 'show, don't tell' type away, as the whole 'yer a wizard, Harry' conversation shouldn't be the highlight of a book, just what happens before something epic is shown.

I'm hoping this was just a turning point and things get back on track, it was okay, but I was pretty disappointed in this.

well not much happened here. I'm kind of peeved i didn't realise there was a third book so now i have to wait. just when i finally stopped hating the dipshits.

I'm definitely looking forward to how they deal with Sarah the backstabber and also for when Cameron finally pulls his head out of his ass so I'm not so subtly prompting the author to publish the third book fast😭.

Yall, this was bonkers...

Picking up where book one ended in its cliffhanger, this one starts with the announcement that Chase in an omega and preggers. That part is not a spoiler, as its in the blurb. This read more like one long story than a true second book, but I was ok with that.

Anyways, like always, Chase lets down his guard with his so called friends, and admits to himself that he actually likes them, even the horrible Cameron. The good news is that Cyrus and Sam both admit to themselves that they care for Chase, the man, more than the god they are supposed to be there for. Alex is still the lowest man on the roster, but at least him and Chase are starting to talk to each other. I am still pissed at them for killing Chase to begin with, but I seem to be the only one.

Cameron, however, still is all about the gods vessel and wants to make sure that Chase is just there for that, no matter what. Which is bad. (insert dun dun dun here)

To top all of this off, Chase's mom shows up to deliver some news that actually made me laugh out loud. I mean, come on. Seriously?? But it makes sense that the pains are happening if everyone is that powerful.

“Alphas and omegas,” I offered. Mom did a double take.

“What? Yes, but how did you—?”

“You’re not the only magnet for supernatural dick, apparently,” I grumbled.

This one also ends on a cliffhanger, which I hate, but I also need the next one as soon as possible. I am all in on this soap opera.

4.5 stars. This series is absolutely crazy but I love it! There’s so much going on that I never know what’s going to happen next and I love that in a romance! This is the second book of a series that follows the same characters so it must be read in order!

I’m still head over heels for Chase. He’s an amazing main character for an RH novel. He’s fun, he’s got spunk and enough self-doubt that I still want to protect him at all costs! There is one thing I hate so much in these books and I’m happy that slowly Chase is being viewed and desired as himself and not the “vessel”!

As for Chase’s men. The order of my favourites keep changing but one has always been at the bottom and I love how much hate is thrown at Alex from all sides. It’s not mean or bullying per se, more like harsh teasing if that makes sense. Cyrus and Sam alternate as my favourite and then Cameron is just kind of there for me. Don’t like him but don’t hate him either.

I’m so excited for book 3 as the cliffhanger for this one left off at a very exciting part! Definitely recommend this series if you’re looking for something different with action, heat and suspense!

Well so welcome disappointment. I was a bit exited for the second book I thought that in this one Chase would finally grow a pair and won't let them get away with having kidnapped and trapped him in that house and basically not allowing him to do anything and acting surprised when he obviously doesn't like that but alas, they order him " you're not allowed there or you will do this or that" and he gets mad but instantly complies, he gets mad at someone and they just carry him in another room and are all smiley faces and we're doing it for you Chase ,calm down pet ,we know better pet and he gets all mushy.
They treat him like and unruly dog who knows no better. They always threaten him with compulsion if he doesn't do what they want and won't even let him use HIS magic. It's always Chase you don't know how to control it so don't use it,like bitch teach him!!! Or Chase can teach himself,he did so in the first book! And now in a house full of witchy books he does nothing! Apparently hes very powerful and can even compel some of them so he could learn a bit of magic ,compel someone and run away! But nooo let's stay with them have sex every day, stay closed in that house and have nothing to do like absolutely nothing ,be treated like you're stupid ,ecc
Cameron the person he hates and wants him dead tells him kneel and suck my ..... And HE DOES IT !!wtf and the excuse is that he's hot and him ordering him gets him hot like tf. The book completely lost the plot .
Sorry for the rant but it drove me bonkers the more I read the more I wanted to break something, drives me nuts when the MC just stays there and let's everyone threat him like shit and let's them order him around

Aaaahhh!!! They are falling in love and NO, I will not spoil and say who. It's been a long while since I felt this excitement to finish a series in one sitting but I finished Books 1 and 2 today and it looks like I won't be sleeping. Don't judge! It's the cliffhanger's fault. The suspense is killing me so, bye bye, Self-Control! 🤣

Oddly enough, this weird mix and match of supernaturals, myths, and magic shouldn't have worked but it did. This is like a shopping mall of Other where you can find anything you can think of and I'm curious what more there is! Wondering what on Earth is happening just kept me on my toes. 😍

By the way, I only read Book 1's blurb and I think not knowing what the rest of the series contain contributed to my enjoyment a lot. Love it!

With a sperm donor of that caliber. The series title of Godbearer makes a lot of since. I was betting on Loki being his daddy. Yet with mommy dearest in town. Things are bound to get more interesting.

I didn't think I was going to get know about Chase's absentee father. Knowing he cried on Alex's shoulder, for a man that was a no-show. To learn his mother knows more about Winterheaven. Decided to keep these secrets from her child. No gumption to ever tell him. Talk about putting your child in danger.

The drama, taste sweet upon my tongue!

What!?

I don't know what to say or how to feel about this second book. I know I didn't entirely like it. I'm just a mess of complete confusion. Was this story always going to become completely craziness? Was the author stretched for ideas or on a timeline? this read is complete madness! And I for one never dreamed that this was the direction it was going to take. I don't want to give to much away, but this book felt like a whole bunch of nothing, with a endIng of WHAT? (Queue in minion face) wha!!!. I'm just flabbergasted on this whole second book entirely.

After the magnificent first part, the plot of the second is mediocrity. BECAUSE NOTHING IS HAPPENING. Plot twists are boring and monotonous. There is no zest here, which was in the first book.

We're in chaotic What-The-Fuck-Ville. XD info is just dumped left and right with very little warning or explanation. Certain characters reactions don't feel real. But I'm still entertained so I guess I'm still reading the next book

Can we just forgive Alex already?

Because for the last two books we have been in constant attack mode when it comes to him. I can't see them working things through because everyone treats him like the unwanted step child of the group. It was funny the first half of the first book but now it's just sad. And annoying. He managed to forgive just about everyone else but him. The funny thing is, the conflict of the first book isn't even that deep anymore. Yes they killed him and yes it was painful for those who had at least cared for him. Yet it doesn't matter. It's only brought to the forefront when MC wants to complain about something.

This story is just a constant back and forth at this point. It actually makes it really difficult to read at times and I did find myself skipping past arguments. Same stuff didn't day.

Sad sigh!!

I was so excited for book 2, literally counting down the days for it's release. And let down... Why? Because sex overtakes plot. Book 1 is amazing and I really thought I had found a character who would seek his revenge on the men who killed him. Sigh!!

Basically the story doesn't really move on. Chase has sex with everyone and his mother turns up. These men killed him. They sacrificed him. And now he has forgotten all that. I was so invested in the hope for a character to fight back but nope.

Cameron is about the only character I actually like now, mainly because he has character.

Not Satisfying

This book really does feel like a filler book. There’s a lot of nothing happening. The first book was packed with plot. This one there’s only a little movement with the overarching plot. Sure there’s some fun surprises but it’s mostly just Chase being hovered over by the others.
When I got to the end of the book, I was left unsatisfied by the whole thing. Nothing really happened or progressed. I’m pretty disappointed.

A complimentary copy was provided in exchange for an honest review.

I am OBSESSED with this series! I love Chase, Sam, Cyrus, Cameron, and even Alex. And now Chase's mother!!!!! The snark, the banter, the holy shit what just happened moments kept me coming back and back and back for more! I never wanted to put this down and loved it! I haven't felt this exited about a story in a very long time and I am sad but also glad there is another story, but ugh, I have to wait for another story? :D

Chase is pregnant, yeppers, he's prego, and not just any prego, he's possibly carrying Cameron, Cyrus, or Sam's kid, but which is the father? Everyone assumes it's Cameron's but I have a feeling they are only half right. When the doctor asked Chase if he was sure he was only 2 months along and Chase got all offended and questioned if the doctor was calling him fat, I about died! Chase is my kind of MC, with a deep understanding about himself, what he wants, what's not good for him (but does it anyway), and isn't afraid to speak his mind, even if it could get him killed. :D

I don't think Cameron is as bad as everyone thinks and I believe we are going to see a very happy reunion at some point. These guys are going to be together for some time.

What about Sarah? No sight of her so far, but I know she isn't gone. Hopefully book 3 brings more details, but honestly, at this point, I just want Chase interacting with the guys, and now his mother, in all this baby business, and life in general. They are all a hoot!

LC Davis is amazingly talented and I am so grateful to have been given the chance to read an advance copy. I know I will read this series again, just as I have other stories by Davis.

You won't regret starting this series, and they MUST be read in order. If you like vampires, shifters, paranormal, magic, mpreg, multiple partners, and snark! This is the series for you, and the author for you.

I don't know what else to say. Most of this story centers around Chase being pregnant, everyone trying to figure out how that is possible, what it means, who the father is, and how to keep Chase healthy. Plus the drama between Chase and Alex, Chase and Cameron, Chase and Cyrus, Chase and...not so much Sam. Chase and Sam are pretty good. Off we go to book 3, whenever that is.

All the stars and I am beyond excited for book 3. Release date, oh where are you release date?

I’m really sad that this book ended…. 😞
The writing style took me some getting used to, but I have really enjoyed reading the first 2 books in this series! I like all the paranormal aspects. Chase is kind of annoying and whiny and I don’t have a clear picture of him, but all of the other MCs are coming together. I feel like there could have been more information on the side characters too, like Sarah. Where she been for months? She just disappeared completely with no nothing? They mentioned her family is apart of everything knowledge wise, but everything is just quite on that front. Weird.
Otherwise I’m very excited for the next book!

Son libros que no tienes que tomarlos en serio y si lo logras los lees de una sentada.
The previous book ends with such a huge cliffhanger that you have to start this book immediately, and it actually picks up where the first one left off.
Chase is pregnant and of course it's something he never believed possible, but neither did he believe that the people closest to him were vampires and betrayed him.
I think that in his unconscious he was always in love with Sam, and Sam with him, you can feel the chemistry that is growing, and Chase is a very easy person for Sam, while he continues to punish Alex, I know he was not a good boyfriend but everyone despise him so much that I even feel sorry for him.
I love Cameron as the antagonist because you really believe him that in 3 seconds it is not possible to fall in love with someone else and forget your love of centuries (literally) not like Cyrus. Although as I said if you want to enjoy this book you have to let yourself go.
The truth is that when you finish the book you want to immediately continue with the next one and I will soon.
I RECEIVED A COPY OF THIS BOOK FROM GAY ROMANCE REVIEWS, AND THIS IS MY HONEST REVIEW.

Second book syndrome strikes again!

I love book 1. Chase was mellow vs melodramatic in this one. I feel like this one was really drawn out… not a whole lot happened in the first 3/4 that couldn’t have happened in far fewer pages. And then things got crazy in the last bit. It will be interesting to see how things pan out in book 3 (I did think this was originally intended as a duology?).

Also, Chapter 11 has the POV labeled as Chase, but it’s Cameron’s POV, which was momentarily confusing… just one more reason why you shouldn’t give 3/5 of your MCs names that start with ‘C’.

I knew I wouldn’t love this one like the first book but still sad about it. The fun snark was gone. Chase did not fight back at all and the whole reveal at about 90% made my eyes roll so hard my head hurt. Even though I was kind of bored I physically felt the crash and burn of my enjoyment after that. Still plan to read the next…..maybe.

Book 2 of the godbearer series came out today and I CANT wait for the next one already !!

It was so good, and somehow even better than the first one?

I didn’t think we would discover even more crazy shit about this world, like fcking zeus man? or that I would have even more reasons for wanting to murder Cameron in cold blood but I do.

I already love Sam and Cy and somehow I’m even starting to like Alex ?? Like I didn’t think that was possible lmao

Cold Blood had me just as riveted as book 1 in the series. I am so thankful I was able to jump right into this one after finishing the first because, well cliffhangers am I right? I never thought I could see myself so invested in a Vampire Harem romance but here we are. Sometimes it works when one steps out of their comfort zone and this series is definitely working for me. There is so much going on and the pacing of the story is just as fast. I'd finally make up my mind about someone and then BAM! They would do something unexpected and I'd realize my earlier assessment was wrong. Except when it comes to Alex and Cameron. Those two are definitely shady for different reasons and are following along with how I have been expecting. Cyrus was my biggest surprise. How L.C. Davis has gotten me to start rooting for him and Sam is some type of wizardry. However, Chase is still leery when it comes to any of these vampires and I don't blame him a single bit.

"The tenderness of his touch hurt. It hurt because I knew it was a lie."

I was expecting Cameron to maybe care at least a little about Chase being pregnant with his possible offspring, but as usual he cares about nothing but restoring the Queen of Blood. Thankfully, the blind devotion to the goddess seems to be starting to waver with the other three. I don't trust Alex as far as Cameron can throw him, but Cyrus and Sam have certainly been putting their money where their mouth is when it comes to protecting Chase and not just for the sake of the vessel. It's still anybody's ball game here and let's not forget the unfortunate fact that Sarah is still alive and kicking out there somewhere. I'm positive we haven't seen the last of that witch.

As I read this straight after the first I didn’t loose momentum with the story .

There were some continuity errors and a miss named heading of a chapter. There was sex early on. Which was kinda a bit porny and felt thrown in because it hasn’t happened yet on book one- the porny sex that is! Lol

I still love Chase and I’m still invested in his story. Cameron.. I think I would have liked more from him.. because he’s still focused on Ichor and his relationship with Chase is not improving. Which is good. I don’t need easy relationship resolutions. I kinda get it might be to keep his plans secret, but he did explain it in one chapter.. so really would have liked to feel more his dilemma and frustrations more. His feelings for Chase are being superseded by his devotion to his Goddess Ichor- well.. he’s determined he will not have feelings for Ichor’s vessel!!!

It didn’t quite have the strength of the first book. But it still moved fast and I’m wondering how Chase will let Alex in- he’s let Cyrus and Sam into his heart- but I’m still not totally sure why Alex is still making him so angry. I mean. They all had a hand in killing him!

I’d say- take this series for what it is- suspending reality to just have fun with still engaging characters that you are invested in enough to want to see how it will end. Mostly I do want to see how Cameron and Chase get it together because right now that seems to be the biggest challenge the author will have in making us believe any 180 turn around in feelings- well Cameron’s anyway!

I’m hoping we don’t have to wait until November, because I do want to see how it will all end! Especially for Ichor.. who went silent in book 1- I kind of miss her sly and dry Whit!

I was completely enthralled by this truly captivating Mpreg vampire reverse harem romance and the continuation of the storyline from “Bad Blood #1” into this book “Cold Blood #2” is smooth and flawless (Naturally, I am definitely not going to give the plot away but there are some very interesting twists that make this book definitely worth reading). The characters are well-developed & very intriguing with a variety of traits and different sides to their individual personalities.
The story so far: a young man (Chase) was murdered in a ritual by his so-called friends (Sarah, Sam, Cyrus, Cameron & Alex) and came back to life with an uninvited hitchhiking guest (the queen of blood, Ichor).
This book covers: Chase has discovered that he is a male omega and is in a bit of a dilemma as he is pregnant and he is not too sure who to blame for his condition and to make things even more interesting the queen of blood (Ichor) has disappeared. Cameron is definitely not too happy about the pregnancy & the missing queen but Cyrus & Sam will do anything to protect Chase.
There is: drama, intrigue, twists & turns, enemies, vampires, hunters, shifters, secrets, magic, disagreements, conflict, violence, distrust, devious plans & steamy scenes. Sadly this book does end with a cliffhanger & I look forward to the next book with eager anticipation and I really would recommend this series to people who enjoy reading this genre.

Ends in small cliffhanger. This picks up immediately where book 1 left off, so definitely read book 1 first before starting this one. I like it a lot better since we know the characters more and we get some answers to a lot of things we were left hanging with in book 1.

This book focused more on the harem and luckily no other villain (new and old) shows up, so we get to concentrate on Chase and his men, mmmmm yum. There's also some tiny progress and redemption-ish for Alex but he's still annoying and written as the kinda-lacking-common-sense and brunt-of-all-their-jokes type character, so we'll see how he's redeemed. It's still such a huge 180 from the type of image he portrayed as the cold/aloof shitty boyfriend Chase had at the beginning of book 1 that I have trouble thinking they're the same person.

I'm so anxious for book 3 and can't wait for it to be written and out. I really hope Cameron isn't as bad as they make him out to be. I'm also wondering when Sarah and that Professor/hunter and all the other enemies will show up. Hoping it won't be too bad later on for all of them. Ichor is still missing, so I'm wondering what happened to her and whether or not it has to do with Chase being pregnant hmm....

I received an ARC of this book and this is my honest review. All opinions are my own and not influenced by the author.

lc davis really said, "oh you think book one is crazy? hold my beer"

y'all this series is insane (but nonetheless, enjoyable).

(minor/vague spoilers ahead)
I still can't believe it went full Percy Jackson fanfic at one point lol. Looking forward to the next book, I'm hoping we can get more confrontations with some of the bad people (in addition to Cameron) and explore Chase's powers a bit more (would love to see him annihilate some people). And I really hope Dr. Mardoll finds out exactly what happened to her son at the hands of his "boyfriends" (especially her fave, Sam), because she seems like a scary woman you don't wanna fuck with.

The best part of this book was Chase's mom. An iconic women. I have to say that her prefering Cameron over Cyrus is both funny and infuriating.

Cyrus has admited he is in love with Chase, and apparently he liked him before. It just seems that EVERYONE had and has the hots for Chase. I almost feel bad for Sarah, seems that no one loved her and everyone was thirsting over her gay best friend.

Chase Mardoll you Will always be iconic. He is there, making everybody fall in love with him, without even trying.

I Guess It's time to Accept I Will read the entire series.

Shorter than I expected after the wait

Felt like a book was split in half. I finished it in a couple of hours.

Felt like right when I was getting entertained it ended.

Generally wanted more. Sadly now I have to wait until November.

Love the characters. But no one really listens to Chase. Hoping that changes in Book 3. Or that he finally gets fed up enough to put some people in their place.
