I’m not a decent guy.
I don’t do commitment.
Women know the score before they land in my bed.

But there is something about this feisty tattoo artist. She makes my blood boil. But with that pure, unadulterated rage comes an ache deep inside I simply can’t ignore.
I despise her.
I shouldn’t want her.
The problem is—every part of me does.
And it’s a complication I can no longer ignore.

With threats against the club from our persistent rivals, it’s becoming clear we can’t be sure who to trust.
As the saying goes… keep your friends close and your enemies closer.
But without knowing, I’ve invited mine right in, and I’m falling for her hard.
And when we hit the ground, I know it’s gonna hurt!

From USA Today Bestselling Author K E Osborn comes the eagerly awaited first book in the NOLA Defiance MC Series.

One of those books you sit down to start reading and end up finishing the book in one go! Awesome read! Not hard to follow whose who and it’s full of drama. And from the sounds of things the next book is going to be just as good!

Hurricane is not a decent guy, not interested in commitment and women all know the score before they go near his bed. Then after a tragedy for him and the MC club he goes to get a memorial tattoo and meets Kaia who is the most feisty tattoo artist, makes his blood boil but he also aches for her in a way that he just cannot ignore. Their rivals are persistent and they no longer have clarity on who to trust when disaster strikes - he has what appears to be invited their enemy right in as he seems to be falling for her hard. When they hit the ground it is going to hurt - can they recover from it?

I loved this story. There was drama, politics, family squabbles and dilemmas around trust and betrayal. I loved that so much of this was around emotions and feelings - something that you do not associate with the leader of an MC club. Kaia was so feisty and strong-willed - the perfect partner to Hurricane. I feel the end result was a far more rounded person on both sides. I'm not looking forward to what happens next with the club as their rivals and previous partners are all going to probably come after them at some point. The writing was of a great standard and that meant it was easy to read and understand. Contains some mature content only suitable for adults.

Ohhh this was good! I’m a sucker for a good motorcycle club series and this one is promising! Hurricane is the President of his club. He is grumpy, ruthless and loyal. When he goes to get a memorial tattoo he gets into a verbal match with the sassy and sexy tattoo artist. Kaia loves tattooing people and loves her sister. When a grumpy MC President comes in for a tattoo and they get into a argument, she can’t stop thinking about that man. When Kaia might be in danger Hurricane will stop at nothing to help her, no matter what’s going on. I enjoyed this book a lot. Kaia’s sister Lani is adorable and many of the MC members have great potential for amazing books! This book was well layered with a lot going on and it kept me well entertained. I look forward to reading more books in this series.

I am genuinely confused rn. I like the overall plot and story but also everything in between was just weird.

The characters didn't feel fully developed and even tho I liked their individual personality, they don't mesh well together.

I also found loads of punctuation errors and too many exclamation points (!!). It was nothing serious but a bit unnerving and irritating. The characters had sex two times and there was no real authentic emotional bonding so It just went nowhere.

I love the misdirect tho. It's pretty clever and very surprising. I also love the h's connection to the mc, a bit farfetched but its not hard to swallow. I personally think the book needs a great deal of editing to reach its potential.

This started out great.
The beginning was good (well.. not really but I could see how generally it would seem good, but whatever).
The middle was good.
Then we get towards the end and...

Don't say I didn't warn you...

So yeah, I DNF'd.
It was good until it wasn't.
I don't know how it ends. Maybe everything is all honkey-dory and I'll never know because I quit too soon.

The fact that I kind of didn't really like Hurricane didn't help matters.
I thought he was a jerk.
But whatever.

Clearly, lotsa people loved this due to the high rating. Unfortunately, I am not one of those people.

Awesome story, characters, and start of the NOLA chapter! I truly adore most books that take place down in New Orleans. Hurricane is a complicated man. His reasons for acting like such a rude, arrogant, womanizing, jerk are sad and tragic. It’s clear from the start that the chemistry between him and Kaia is explosive. Kaia has a lot of responsibility in terms of caring for her younger sister Lani who has epilepsy that really restricts her ability to do much in life. I’m hoping we get a later book in this chapter with a HEA for Lanj. There’s same great complications and surprises in this book and the writing (as always with this author is fantastic). I do wish that there was a bit more smut/steam, but other than that I can’t find a negative! I’m dying for the next book already.

I have to say that I'm absolutely delighted by this explosive start to the NOLA Defiance MC but I'm not shocked since this author is one of my very favorite authors, and she always ups her game with every new book. Hurricane is the Prez who really doesn't handle women very well, and he really makes no apologies for it. At the beginning of this book, he & his club suffered a great loss which is how his life took a new turn that did his head in. He's off to his brother's tattoo artist, Kaia, to do a memorial tattoo for him, and from the moment they come face to face, the sparks & insults are flying LOL! She's a woman who can go toe to toe with him, and while she makes him mad, he's also very attracted to this firecracker. Kaia is a good girl who works hard to take care of her sister who suffers with serious seizures, and Hurricane drives her batty. However, these two are the only people who can't see the writing on the wall when it comes to the other so let the entertaining journey pop off. On top of this, there's a very real threat against his club with a vicious enemy, and it's getting very brutal. I'm telling you, between the entertainment of Kaia & Hurricane's interactions, this dangerous situation is intense. I love the fact that this brilliant author can still surprise me with the twists coming in hot, especially since I sussed out who I thought wasn't who they said, and yet, I HAD NO CLUE as to the bigger picture, and that's gold to me since my mind is always in overdrive while reading suspense! I absolutely CANNOT WAIT for more of this series, and I believe you'll feel the same way after you hit those one click buttons since I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

I absolutely loved this book. With each new Defiance Chapter each book keeps getting better. Right off the bat K.E has me all wrapped up in my emotions and the banter through this book had me laughing my butt off. Hurricane and Kaia had me pulling for them every step of the way even though at times I felt like I had whiplash. Their story is action packed, steamy and after everything that happened I'm excited to see what's next for the men and women of the NOLA Defiance. I can't wait to read City & Bayou's stories and any other who follow.

RTC but first of all this cover? Wow just wow! This book was so much fun to read. I loved how much intrigued there was, it always kept me so interested in the romance. I also loved the romance in this one. These two were so perfect for each other and they made such a lovely couple. They were the perfect fit for each other and I loved reading about their adventures as a couple.

I received an arc of this book and this is my honest opinion

The NOLA chapter of Defiance MC is off to an excellent start! Hurricane is the president and a grumpy one lol. When he meets Kaia to have a tattoo done in memory of Razor, his fallen VP, sparks fly but not necessarily good ones. They light each other up in so many ways you know when they finally get together it’s going to be explosive! But with Hurricanes fragile sense of trust when he sees Kaia talking to a known enemy of the club he reacts with his emotions and not his head. Kaia finds out that people are not who she thought they were and that she was lied to for so long. Now her and her sisters’ lives are at risk. Once Hurricane realizes what is what he’s going to have to do more than just save the day.

I'm so pleased to have moved to a new Chapter, and this NOLA one already feels more explosive than the last series.

Both characters are headstrong and it causes issues between them that neither were expecting..

Great read.

Brilliant start to NOLA Defiance MC

Well, she's done it again!! Every MC book I read by KE Osborn has me sitting on the edge of my seat, and GRAVITATE was no different. KE now takes her readers to New Orleans to meet and learn all about the men of the NOLA Chapter of Defiance MC, and the women who will bring them to their knees. First up is Hurricane, the club's President.

Hurricane was previously introduced during the Houston Defiance series. I can honestly say I didn't think much of the surly, gruff, rude, obnoxious man. Alpha to the core does not describe this man, he's dominating, controlling, violent, and sees women only good enough for sex. But what you see on the outside doesn't necessarily mean that is what you'll find beneath all the peeled back layers. Hurrican was a man who suffered greatly during his childhood, as a result it made him extremely protective of his club and everyone associated with it.

Kaia was such a beautiful woman. She had a heart of gold, especially when it came to her sister Lani, who had epilepsy. Kaia is a tattoo artist, who has a strong personality, she's feisty and will do anything to give her sister a normal life. When Hurricane walks through her door to get a tattoo as a memorial to his recently deceased VP Razor, sparks fly and the instant chemistry is undeniable. They will push each other in ways they've never been pushed before. But can Hurricane trust Kaia, especially after he sees her with the club's enemy? I loved the way Hurricane and Kaia were together, they amused me with their bickering, but they also tore the pages up with their heat. Hurricane lost some of his hardness when he was with Kaia, allowing the tenderness from beneath to emerge.

Once again Ms. Osborn has written an addictive suspenseful story with her usual twists and turns thrown in. Angst, action, violence, betrayal, and heat, KE brings it all. A totally fascinating read and a brilliant start to her new series. I look forward to reading more about the NOLA Defiance MC.

Wow, what an explosive beginning to another wonderful MC series.

Hurricane is reeling from a loss and dealing with it the only way he knows how, women and drinking. What he wasn’t expecting was the Hawaiian tsunami to blow into his life and completely change the way he sees women. This poor guy has had it rough his entire life. The weight of his MC is on his shoulders, the Bratva is breathing down his neck, he needs to find a VP, and life is coming for him from every angle. Sometimes you want to punch him, then hug him and Kaia is just the force of nature that uproots him like a mighty oak!

Kaia, tattoo artist, full of sass, and loyal to her family. When she meets her friend Bayou’s brother Hurricane these two are a perfect storm. The sheer defiance in these two, the fire, the back and forth is the fuel that ignites one of the hottest and action packed reads you’ll get that will definitely keep you reading.

What you’ll get…
🏍: Hot Surly MC President /Twin Brother and amazing extended family
🏍: Hot Sassy Tattoo Artist / Disabled Amazing Sister
🏍: New Orleans culture
🏍: Pet alligator named La Fin
🏍: Dirty talk/ seggsy times🔥🔥🔥/ breath play
🏍: Kidnapping and torture
🏍: Gang violence

If slightly dark romance within the motorcycle culture is your thing, this book is one I could not recommend more. 4.5⭐️/3🌶

Who is Hurricane? What do we find him and his club in the middle of at the start of this book? Watching the event that was happening at the end of the last book through a new set of eyes and from a completely different perspective was interesting for me. Who are Kaia and Lani? They are so polar opposites it was a trip. What is wrong with Lani that Kaia gets upset about it? What does Kaia do to help Lani? When Kaia ends up showing up in the same place as Hurricane after his visit to her place of employment, what does she do btw, you can feel the sexual tension just ratchet up between them. Lani is a hoot and a half, especially when she was describing romance novels to Kaia without describing romance novels. How does Kaia respond? Who is City? Why does he end up going home with Hurricane and the others? Who is Dice? That was hard to read about, with regards to the brothers having tension between them and one of them not knowing why things were suddenly so tense. This was a really tension filled book to read, but mainly in good ways, with some not so happy tense moments throughout the reading. Enjoy the book! If this first book of the new spinoff series of the Defiance MC groups, my mind is still blown!

Great New Series

We are being introduced to the NOLA Defiance MC and this is a great beginning to a new MC series by this author. Ms. Osborn has given me so very many awesome MC books and I’m so happy that she’s keeping up with the alpha bad guys that she gives me.

This book starts out with a bang and it captured me the whole way through until the last page was read. Hurricane is the Prez of the NOLA Defiance MC and has just suffered a great loss. To commemorate losing his VP, a man who was like a brother to him, he goes to have a tattoo done. That’s where is meets the feisty tattoo artist, Kaia. I think she is an exceptional person especially seeing that Kaia takes care of her younger sister, Lani, who has epilepsy.

The connection between Hurricane and Kaia is fiery with plenty of steam. As always there is plenty of action, surprises and drama that made this a one sit read for me. Now can’t wait for the next book in this series!!

Gravitate is the first book in the NOLA Defiance MC series and it is the perfect start to this chapter. Their story is poignant, action packed and emotional. Hurricane and Kaia are both headstrong characters and even though there is push and pull they are also drawn to each other like a moth to a flame. The heat and steam between these two radiates off the pages like no other. You are taken on an action packed ride with a few surprises, a little humour and two people that cannot help but gravitate to each other. A fantastic start to this series and I cannot wait for the next book.

Ranking: ⭐⭐⭐.5/5

I loved going back to Defiance world, especially since K.E. Osborn has an amazing skill for writing MC romance, his plotlines always manage to grab me from the first pages and Gravitate was no exception, plus Hurricane & Kaia share a chemistry that I really enjoyed and I'm already in love with all the boys in the NOLA Defiance, so I'm looking forward to reading the next books.

I have to start by saying that Hurricane was not my favorite character since the first time I read him: he is a total alpha, president of NOLA Defiance, rude, bloodthirsty and only uses women for sex, has a great childhood trauma thanks to his parents and loves the boys in the club so much that he is willing to do anything to protect them, and although I started this book expecting to read a detestable man who would redeem himself in the long run, it was not like that, Hurricane proved to be different from what I had seen of him at the beginning, a man capable of opening up to people, albeit with difficulties, of loving and protecting someone else outside the MC and of compromising his heart, which he showed not only with Kaia, but with Lani as well, the relationship between them was more than adorable, tender and sweet, however there was something about his character that I missed , to me it seemed as if his feelings for Kaia healed all his past wounds, and he didn't get to that breakthrough moment when he realize he need help that the rest of the guys in Houston Defiance did.

Kaia was a new character in this world, one that immediately stole my heart. I loved everything about her, especially her profession and her love for Lani. She is a tattoo artist with a lot of character, sass, funy and who makes Hurricane suffer in the best possible ways, she is a brave, loving girl who does EVERYTHING in her power to taking care of her younger sister, plus her personal story gives totally unexpected plot twists that made the book much more interesting than it was at the beginning.

Hurricane & Kaia had one of the best enemies to lovers/rivals stories I've ever read, the tension between them is wonderful, their attitude towards each other makes their interactions VERY funny , sensual and sometimes adorable! and if we add to that the tender touch and much more fun that Lani and her occurrences give to these two, everything is much more better, but one of the the things that I liked and surprised me the most about their relationship was that in the hot moments of this book the domination and power were shared by both of them, at different times, something that I had never read and that was much more sensual than I thought.

GRAVITATE is the first instalment in KE Osborn’s contemporary, adult NOLA DEFIANCE MC dark, erotic, MC romance series-a spin off from the author’s Houston Defiance MC series. This is NOLA Defiance MC president Lynx ‘Hurricane’ Ladet, and tattoo artist Kaia Mahoe’s story line. The NOLA Defiance MC is first introduced in the author’s SURVIVE (Houston Defiance MC 8). Some of the events of GRAVITATE cross over with the events of SURVIVE.

NOTE: If you have not read SURVIVE (Houston Defiance MC 8) there may be spoilers in my review.

WARNING: Due to the nature of the story line premise including graphic violence and breath play (autoerotic asphyxiation), there may be triggers for more sensitive readers.

Told from three first person perspectives including Hurricane and Kaia, following several intersection pathways, GRAVITATE focuses on the building relationship between NOLA Defiance MC president Lynx ‘Hurricane’ Ladet, and tattoo artist Kaia Mahoe, and the impending war between the NOLA Defiance MC, and the Novikov Russian Bratva. Weeks earlier NOLA Defiance MC president Lynx ‘Hurricane’ Ladet lost his best friend and club VP Razor during a battle with the Bayou Militia, a battle they were called in to help with the Houston Defiance MC. To honor his fallen friend, Hurricane commissions a memorial tattoo where he will meet tattoo artist Kaia Mahoe, the woman that will immediately get under his skin. From the outset, Kaia is ascerbic and condescending towards our story line hero but a communication mix-up finds Hurricane’s attitude and actions towards Kaia angry and antagonistic. Weeks will pass, and our couple will run into one another on numerous occasions including a tattoo convention in Vegas but their caustic meetings continue to be a prelude to future interactions. Meanwhile, the Russian Bratva is attempting to take over the drug territory from the NOLA Defiance MC, an attempt that is going to pull the MC into a deadly and dangerous war for control. What ensues is the building but antagonistic relationship between Hurricane and Kaia, and the potential fall-out when betrayal destroys the woman with whom Hurricane is falling in love.

NOLA Defiance MC needs a new VP, and Hurricane’s brother Bayou refuses to accept the position offered. To fill the vacant seat, Hurricane approaches the Los Angeles chapter of the Defiance MC, and requests the transfer of their sargent at arms City, a transfer that will alleviate City’s growing anxiety with the Los Angeles MC.

The relationship between Hurricane and Kaia begins when Hurricane commissions a tattoo from Kaia Mahoe but Kaia is a strong-willed, independent woman whose private life is about to cross over with the NOLA Defiance MC. Hurricane is unable to get past his attraction to Kaia but a perceived betrayal against the Defiance MC finds Kaia struggling to understand what has happened and why, as she faces the wrath of the Defiance MC. When the truth is revealed, Kaia is unable to forgive the man with whom she was falling in love, a man who is battling between head and heart knowing he destroyed the heart of the woman he loved. The $ex scenes are erotic and intense including scenes of breath play and autoerotic asphyxiation.

There is a large ensemble cast of secondary and supporting characters as GRAVITATE introduces the members of the NOLA Defiance MC including new VP City, Felix, Raid, horticulturalist Maxxy, Bodhi, Omen,Ghoul, Hoodoo, Quarter, and club girl Frankie. We meet Kaia’s twenty-five year old sister Lani who struggles with a life-threatening disability, and their father Maka Mahoe; Hurricane’s brother Bayou, their step-mother Ingrid, and step siblings Novah and Nash Harrington; MC member Grudge and his son, aspiring boxer Cole; tattoo shop owner Jackson, receptionist Quinn, and boxing team member Yuri. The requisite evil has many faces. City’s story line is next in ISOLATE.

GRAVITATE is a complex and detailed story of betrayal and vengeance, power and control, that introduces the back ground and players in the NOLA Defiance MC. The premise is dramatic, haunting, raw and gritty; the characters are edgy and intense; the romance is provocative and impassioned.

This is my first K E Osborn novel and it has everything one wants in an MC romance including angst, betrayal, vengeance, and sizzling hot chemistry.

Lynx "Hurricane" Ladet, President of NOLA Defiance, takes no prisoners. He's complicated, rough around the edges, and his club comes first until a stubborn and mouthy tattoo artist starts to get under his skin. However, he has more dangerous work to deal with at the moment; mainly; keeping his club members alive and his clients happy. Unfortunately, the woman he is attracted to is keeping a secret...or is she?

Kaia Māhoe is unhappy with her place of employment with a creepy co-worker and a boss who just doesn't care. However, she is a big provider for her sister who has epilepsy and she will deal with the worst to make sure her sister is well and safe. Until a grumpy MC asshole walks in out of nowhere and belittles her artistry and treats her like a servant. Why does she even still think of the man? He's rude and disrespectful, but she's unusually drawn to him physically and he treats her sister like a person, not a medical problem. Give him time, he'll show his true self...only, will it be what she wants?

I have to admit I'm not a great fan of MC romances due to the sexist nature of the clubs and unfortunately, this book was no different. At first, I was not a big fan of Hurricane because he is derisive and disparaging towards Kaia who didn't deserve to be treated so badly. It was going to take a lot for me to come around to this dickhead. As I slowly learned his back story, some of my dislike mellowed, but he really needed to stop jumping to conclusions which seems like a bad trait to have as a president of an MC. Fortunately, he seemed to run his club better than his personal life. In my opinion, the man needed to grovel a lot more than he did. I do admit his relationship with Lani, Kaia's little sister, was a good addition to the story. As for Kaia, I liked her strength and her love for her sister. I'm glad she stuck to her guns and made him work for forgiveness. If anyone could kick his ass, she could.  There were a few good twists and turns and interesting subplots with other MC members that will make for some good stories.

Ms. Osborn's writing is detailed and engaging with her fast-paced battle scenes and getting in the head of a man who exudes confidence in the field, but sweats bullets for a woman he's falling in love with. It's a good mix of diverse characters, romance, and suspense.

Thank you to Ms. Osborn for giving me the opportunity to read this book with no expectation of a positive review.

Outstanding start to the series and written in true KE Osborn style. It’s well written with lots of thrilling action going on. There are twists and turns, happy times and tragic times, suspense, betrayal and so much more. This is Hurricane’s story, the prez of the NOLA chapter of the Defiance MC. He is short-tempered, ruthless and loyal to his club, which always comes first - as for the women in his life, well they come and go like a revolving door - he doesn’t do commitment. He and his club have gone through a recent tragedy and he gets a tattoo to memorialize Razor, a fallen brother. What he doesn’t expect is to meet Kaia, a sassy, sexy tattoo artist. Sparks flame between the two of them and not necessarily the good kind. But can’t seem to get her out of his head - he wants her but can he trust her? Especially after he sees her talking to a rival MC member. Was it harmless? Is Hurricane over reacting? As the story and the twist unfold, who can either of them trust? Will Hurricane bring trouble to his club door? Will Kaia and Lanj, her sister with a long term illness that Kaia takes care of, be endangered and if so from what side?

An awesome read that this reader just couldn’t put down. I highly recommend grabbing it up and getting in on the start of what looks to be a great series.

2 Thumbs Up and 5+ Stars

K.E. Osborn is back with the first book in her new NOLA Defiance MC series. The story follows club president Hurricane and tattoo artist Kaia, the pair first meet when Hurricane goes to get a memorial tattoo done. Kaia is the one lucky enough to be tattooing the hunky man wearing the leather cut who’s just walked into the shop where she works, although with his attitude, she’s anything but lucky. The pair butt heads from the get go, this grumpy, ruthless yet loyal MC Prez has met his match in the feisty, strong-willed tattoo artist. There’s no denying the chemistry between them, if only they could control their temper’s when they’re around one another, luckily Kaia’s sister is like a little ray of sunshine, she works her magic bringing the pair closer together, forcing them to admit their feelings for one another, and when Kaia is in danger, Hurricane proves he’s more than capable of doing whatever’s needed in order to protect and keep her safe. There’s plenty of drama, danger, intrigue and suspense throughout this story, and we get to witness a host of emotions, loyalty and trust being a huge factor, a few twists and turns lie ahead too.

This was one entertaining, riveting page tuner, which has left me looking forward to seeing what’s in store for this MC.

"Just remember, you're a strong brave, fierce women. You don't need to listen to his bullshit"
~Quinn

Hurrican & Kaia love story did not start soft and love at first sight. NOPE it was hate at first sight and I loved the banter they shared but unfortunately it didn't end positive...no spoilers I LOVE when they meet again and the sexual tension was very tense on the dance floor. Their romance is perfectly pace for me

Hurrican is going from a healing journeys from losing his best friend & VP Razor. And he is also looking for a new VP and it proving to be a hard whole to fill but it needs to be done...

Kaia is a very talented tattoo artist and her best friend Quinn helps out on the desk. I love their friendship and the banter too is spot on. NOW not only do we have friendship goals but sisters goals. She has a little sister Lani. She suffered from seizures but that doesn’t stoo her trying to have a independent life from parents but she lives with her sister Kaia. They have such a strong bond and they find the funny side of things. Which I related to completely because with my MS, me and my family look for the funny. Better to laugh than cry

I love this new chapter series of Defiance MC and we did start with a strong Hurrican indeed! I really recommend you read the previous series cause you be missing out on more colourful characters & the ACTION SUSPENSE💥

This New Orleans charter of the Defiance MC starts off with one action-packed, drama-filled, exciting book. I loved every bit of it!

The two lead characters, Hurricane and Kaia, are so feisty and their banter, while not always humorous for them, is fun to read. The chemistry between the two is off the charts and what I enjoyed is how the intimacy aspect didn’t override the storyline, it enhanced it. But let me tell you—their passion is supercharged! 😉

Lani needs a special mention as she is a fantastic character in the story and adds so much depth. Her ability to care for her sister and others is admirable, as is Kaia’s.

The Russian bratva is enemy number one for the NOLA Defiance and they certainly know how to cause mayhem, scratch that, absolute chaos. Hurricane and his MC brothers truly have a fight on their hands, and fight—they do.

There is an underlying suspense element that is wildly enticing and I needed to know more straight away. It’s a tiny bit of teasing as snippets are left for readers to snack on. I loved this method and the big reveal is an intensely action-filled scene and very emotional, too.

This is a fabulous romantic suspense book that is very entertaining and exciting, I totally recommend it to everyone.

Wow, I don’t even know where to start with this. I loved the book and the characters. Hurricane is a man that doesn’t trust easily, but when he trusts someone, he trusts completely. Losing Razor was hard in Hurricane, and he was a drift for a while, but when he finally found his new VP, he began to find his footing again, until he met Kaia.

This story was explosive, full of action, great characters, and a newfound book boyfriend. I loved Hurricane. He’s not an easy man to love, but when he started to show his true self, it was great. His gentleness with Lani, his love for Ingrid and Novah, and his love for Bayou and his club brothers shows he’s a man that loves deeply and hard. His past experience with women may have given him pause about Kaia, but when they opened up to each other it was great.

I loved the story, the characters, and the I fell in love with the NOLA Defiance. I can’t wait to read City’s book and more in the series. I love KE Osborn’s books and the Defiance MC has always been a favorite of mine. I am looking forward to more of these guys. I give this book a 5-star review.

I liked this book. I didn’t like this book. The story had an highly imaginative element I didn’t see coming. It was gripping and added so much. The characters weren’t particularly likable though. I’ll give Osborn serious credit for not trying to sugar coat club life. These are not reformed bikers who walk on the right side of the law. There actions are rough and violent.

Hurricane is rough and violent. I love that Kaia doesn’t take his baloney. She’s strong and independent and doesn’t need a guy giving her a hard time. Hurricane doesn’t know how not to give her a hard time. Their interactions were interesting and entertaining. Their relationship made sense.

These two go through so much and a lot of it is awful. Poor Kaia is subjected to too much. It was hard to read. I loved that Kaia is so loving especially with her sister. The only thing better is how wonderful Hurricane is with Lani. This course, tough biker really does have a heart.

The book is well-written and well-plotted but harsh at times. I did overall really enjoy it.

Thanks to the author and Grey’s Promotions for the ARC.

The beginning started out confusing to me....so many references to different MCs that it was confusing and many of the ones named didn't even appear in the storyline. I guess it's to set up the story for the others in the series. I really liked Hurricane. He's a grumpy, quick to temper kind of guy, and Kaia really rubs him the wrong way. His attraction to her finally brings out his softer side, but their story seemed somewhat rushed. I mean, they only had sex twice and then she is his Ol Lady? I am giving this 4 stars because I did enjoy the story and the peripheral characters. It could have been better if there had been more development of the characters, though. Laini is funny, sweet and strong and I can't wait to see what happens with her. This first book in the series did catch my attention and I am looking forward to seeing what happens with City and Izzy. Overall an enjoyable read. I was sent a complimentary copy and I am choosing to leave my honest review.
