Reenie flees California after a horrible break up. She's trying to start over when her friend's brother, Matt, reintroduces himself when he is drunk and completely naked. It was an interesting way for Reenie's Texas adventure to begin. Matt desperately tries to win Reenie over, but she has already put him in the same category as her ex.
It was a fun, quick read. I am always a fan of a book that makes the guy grovel after his mistakes and prove that he is worthy of an amazing woman.

The last thing Reenie expected while visiting her old friend from college was to find Amy's hot hunk brother standing in front of her after a night of partying, stark naked and drunk. But before he passes out, he has some very suggestive ideas for himself and Reenie. Definitely not on the recently burned woman's agenda.
When Matt Stark takes her to lunch in the city the following weekend to apologize for his behavior, she is consumed with scorching desire that she can't control every time she looks at the gorgeous cowboy. The feelings are mutual, and despite Reenie's reluctance to get involved with another playboy, they end up in bed having the hottest sex of their lives at her San Antonio apartment following lunch.
Reenie is so gun-shy from her experience with her unscrupulous ex, that she turns and runs from her feelings for Matt, refusing to see him or answer his calls for a week. But Matt has fallen for the smart, sexy woman and hires her at her place of work as her exclusive client. Reenie's boss insists she take on the account, which is for a substantial fund-raiser the Starks do every year in the area. Even when she refuses to relent on her decision not to see him, Matt persists, and the heat rises to the melting point.
I enjoyed this charming 'smitten cowboy' love story so much. It was refreshing in its simplicity and sweetness. Reenie, as a victim, was not a broken woman. I loved her spirit and feisty temperment. True, she was conflicted concerning powerfully sexy men after having her trust so ravaged by one who was dangerous. But in the end, she proved to be an open hearted woman falling into the deep waters of real love.
Ms. Holt described those pivotal scenes between Matt and Reenie in which she let go of her pain and embraced healing, in the most sensual and sweet way that it brought tears to my eyes. Matt was an exciting, engaging hero that gave me hope for the best in men! I also loved the excellently described, hotly erotic sex scenes in this story. This author just keeps getting better and better.
Stark Naked is a delightful romance that I gladly recommend to everyone. I would love to see a take off on this story for a series surrounding the Stark ranch and their hearty stock!

Stark, Buck, Stripped, Bare…
The four books in the Naked Cowboys series by Desiree Holt were all fun, fast, hawt reads! I loved the meet cute for Reenie and Matt. While Reenie and her TSTL comments and doubts got on my nerves, Matt was the perfect alpha cowboy to soften her up and make her see sense! I loved Matt’s sister and Reenie’s BFF, Amy. Amy was the practical, pragmatic sister who knew ranching. Funny thing, when I started reading Buck Naked…I realized that I had read it before not knowing it was part of a series. (Also, bought this whole series on kindle from Amazon and then noticed I had Buck Naked in my ibooks collections…uggg, hate when I do that…but great read so I will take it easy on myself). Stripped Naked introduced two new to town people who both were jaded by life. Jinx is returning home after 10 years in New York, while Dillon is finally finding his home after years in San Antonio as a cop…a cop who was shot and then unceremoniously dumped by his ex. Jinx and Dill have a lot in common on that front! I loved these two hard heads. But the BEST in the series was the last book…Cade and Georgie. Cade is the cad who treated everyone, especially Amy, like shit. But just like the prodigal son, when the money runs out…so do the friends. Down, out, hated and despised…Cade has nothing left and nowhere to turn. Watching and participating in his change and personal growth was awesome. I loved these two together! This was cute. A bit predictable, except that the conflict came at the beginning of the story so the rest of it was sort of him groveling to get back in her good graces.
Reenie just moved to Texas from California after she caught her boyfriend cheating on her. Reenie went to school with Amy who lives on a ranch with her brother, Matt. Matt has been a bit of a dog, and since Reenie just got away from a dog, even though he's drop-dead gorgeous, she wants nothing to do with him. She really has no plans to find a guy at ALL. The first night she's in town, he comes home three sheets to the wind. Amy sends him to bed, but he comes back out stark naked asking if Reenie wants to keep him company. And promptly passes out. Reenie and Amy have to drag him to his room. The next morning, when Amy reminds him what happened, he's remorseful, but he also remembers all the flirting he and Reenie used to enjoy when he'd come visit them at school and thinks she might be special, so he goes to her apartment to beg forgiveness. Lunch goes VERY well, but Reenie still thinks he's bad news, so she does what she can to keep away from him. But Matt isn't very good at just going away.
Cute couple with good chemistry, good sexy times, maybe a bit too much insta-love, but a sweet HEA.

This was an OK short story. The writing was somewhat repetitive for so few pages. Reenie kept bringing up Matt coming in drunk, then naked, the first night at his ranch, when she was visiting her friend (his sister) Amy. I mean she brought it up over and over and over again, even in a business meeting in front of her boss. Also, seriously, what guy keeps saying a woman's name 3 times? "Reenie, Reenie, Reenie", so irritating. Poor Amy kept appologising constantly in the first chapter of the story for Matt's drunken moment, what kind of friend blames you for something your sibling does? Please!! Once again for such a short story I was sick of hearing about "Arsehole Aaron" and his philandering ways with comparisons to Matt, move on already! Reenie was a tad annoying, who bales on a friend the way she did and won't take her phone calls? Just childish and rude. On a positive note I did like Matt and his sister Amy, the sex scenes between Matt and Reenie, whilst short, were pretty good and the writing was quite promising. I would like to read a full novel by this writer and see how that measures up. If you are looking for a light, fun, no-brainer of a short romance then this could quite possibly fill the bill.

This is the first book that i read by this author. I loved it.
A girl that had been broken by her ex boyfriend when she caught him with two women in their bed.
She had moved to where her friend lived hoping to start a new life and not get involved with another man.
That is until her friend's big brother came home one night drunk and got naked and walked out into the living room. From then on out she couldn't stop thinking about him but was he going to be the one for her.
After his embarrassing moment he wanted to show her that he was a good guy and not like her ex boyfriend but would she believe him ?

Too Short
I realize that they had a whirlwind romance, but I think the novel was too short . It ended so abruptly that I felt I needed more . I liked the ending & the cowboy's pursuit of her, but she wasn't convincing as being heartbroken or scorned when she had sex with him so quickly.

Short and steamy/erotic without much substance or story or character development. It is what it is... 2.5 stars. The writing style/grammar was fine, I just couldn't connect with the characters - another reader may love this novella.

It soon becomes apparent that Matt wants more than to apologize. Can Reenie trust him with her heart as well as her body?
Author Desiree Holt sure knows how to write one sexy cowboy! STARK NAKED is a rip-roaring, sheet-tangling erotic romance that’ll make you smile. I absolutely loved the chemistry between Reenie and Matt. Matt’s determination to win Reenie’s heart – a heart that was bruised by another man – endeared him to me. It’s not an easy task for him to persuade Reenie that they belong together, but whether he’s stark naked or fully clothed, Matt’s more than up to the task.
Reenie’s reticence to get into a relationship with Matt is logical. At the same time, it’s equally understandable how he’s able to get under her skin so quickly. Reenie and Matt are a great match, and the sparks between them carried STARK NAKED. All in all, I enjoyed STARK NAKED, and I really hope Ms. Holt writes a book for the incredibly likeable Amy Stark.

This book was a quick entertaining read. The characters were likeable and the story flowed nicely. I loved the humor and banter between the characters, it seemed so natural. A good start to the series and I am looking forward to reading the others.
Reenie and Matt face an uphill battle between her being gun-shy from her bad choice in men and his playboy nature. She has been seriously burned by a recent ex and wants nothing more to do with men but she has a history with Matt, him being her old college roommate’s brother, including a crush that never died. And for him, he shares a similar interest in her. He was always interested in his little sister’s roommate but kept his attraction to her at bay. Now she’s back in his life and all grown up with an air of confidence and a sassy mouth he is becoming quickly addicted to. After an awkward embarrassing moment their dual interest sparks again and she fights to keep him at a distance when all he wants is to pull her closer. He has his work cut out for him because of his wandering ways and her freshly wounded heart. To show her he has changed and can be the man she is looking for he has to get creative. He only hopes she can see past her ex’s betrayal and open herself up to new possibilities with him.

Can Matt prove he is more than a player and will Rennie give him the chance or will his reputation force her to keep her distance?

This is a fun story as well as a romantic one. Matt is brash, glib, and won’t take “no” for an answer, which is just as well, as Reenie is one lady who’s been hurt and determined not to be that way again. Reenie is smart and mouthy and her mental asides and reactions to his behavior are part of the fun. There’s some graphic language in the love-making but it goes right along with the sensuality, making this a delightful entertaining story of two people who start off on the wrong (bare) foot and stumble along from there.
Recommended for a fairly short read, but one that’s definitely enjoyable.

Reenie Davenport has had a rough go with men. She moves to Texas for a fresh start and meets up with her college friend Amy Stark...while visiting she also meets Amy's brother Matt Stark....who just so happens to be very sexy, and very naked!
I knew before even reading this book that I was going to love it. Desiree NEVER disappoints me! Her books are amazing. I actually read this one last cause I just now found it *sheepish grin* But it was wonderful. Matt's character kept me laughing and having hot flashes while I can relate to Reenie in some ways. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and would recommend it to anyone...so what are you waiting for??? Go get it!

I actually read this one last cause I just now found it *sheepish grin* But it was wonderful. Matt's character kept me laughing and having hot flashes while I can relate to Reenie in some ways. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and would recommend it to anyone...so what are you waiting for??? Go get it!

LOVED IT!!! Funny thing is I didn't realize this was a novella and right before I started reading it I had a conversation with a couple of friends about novellas working my nerves because it is very few that give me enough story mixed with sex....one of them gave me the phrase I needed "a novella needs a beginning, middle and end". Color me HAPPY that STARK NAKED is a complete story even though it's a novella.

I won a copy of Stark Naked by Desiree Holt and oh what a great book to win! I loved everything about this book. Ms Holt delivers an awesome story complete with lovable characters, humor, drama and steam your glasses sex scenes. What's not to like? This book is so well written, I'd recommend it to my prude friends and tell them to just skip the sex scenes. I can't wait to read my next Desiree Holt book! Every one I read becomes my new favorite. This is a complete book, not a cliffhanger.

Reenie had a crush on Matt Stark 12 years ago, but failed a relationship and shattered confidence has Reenie running from California and swearing off the opposite sex and everything that their smooth talking, womanising ways entails.
Matt may have made a arse of himself, literally when he saw Reenie after all those years, but something about her stirs his soul, and his determination to win Reenie's heart makes for an entertaining read and some smokin` hot encounters too!

April 27, 2015This is a great story about a gal who's been hurt & gives up on men and the sexy cowboy who wants to change her mind! But when a drunk Matt falls naked at her feet, Rennie figures he's a jerk like her ex. Can Matt change her mind and get her to give him a chance? This is a definite must read to find out! 2 THUMBS UP!!!
