On April 1st, 2014, ZTE was released its latest flagship Android smartphone, ZTE Grand S II, in Chinese name that’s mean “secret” 

In fact, the smartphone has already show at CES 2014 on last January, this phone is upgrade version from ZTE Grand S and has few upgrade. It supports 5-mode 17 Frequency (includes dual-4G standard), this phone is known as the world’s fastest 4G smartphone.

Grand S II is the one of flagship smartphone from ZTE, there is two variant. The different is in the storage capacity. While the standard version comes with 2GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage which has plastic material cover; and the other version is sports with 3GB RAM and 32 GB of internal storage and the shell is covered by leather material.

The other specs; the phone is equipped with a 5.5-inch 1080P screen, powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 (MSM8974AB) processor, coupled with 2 megapixel front facing camera and 13 megapixel rear facing camera, the phone is powered by 3100 mAh battery capacity and uses a removable battery and this phone is running Android 4.3 Jelly Bean operating system.

As the flagship model, the ZTE Grand S II Standard Edition is offers with  only 1,699 yuan or around $273 USD,while the exclusive edition is offers with  2,499 yuan or around $402 USD price, it is obviously that this phone has more higher price that Xiaomi 3, and other domestic smartphone.

The phone has good looking design with ZTE Logo near the front facing camera, sensor and speaker.

There is a 13 megapixel camera in the rear, this is the main camera with shiney ZTE logo below the lens. The back cover is also has nice plastic material with good looking metal texture.

After giving the impression that the whole case is simple and elegant, and this part is fingerprint free. While the Special version is covered with leather material so the user can handle the phone with nice grip.

Power button and volume control keys are located on the right side of the phone’s body, the power button has short button while the volume key button is little longer.

5.5 inch IPS screen

Grand S II uses a 5.5-inch IPS screen with 1080P. Why ZTE did not using 2K screen? First, for down the price and there is no effect to showing 2K screen resolution in 5.5 inch screen size.

Although the screen has 5.5 inch screen but this features has a limitation, not all application can running smooth and not compatible with split screen technology.

Grand S II also has “Voice wake-up” feature, so the user can wake up the phone just saying  “Hello, ZTE .

The user can also uses a voice command to check the weather or lauching apps.

Grand S II is also support for gesture, so the user can set up the gesture on screen to launch app. In addition to unclock the screen, the gesture can also give the command to phone for launching apps.

The phone is also powered by 3100 mAh battery capacity.

The actual test we found that phone can handel 40 minutes for watchin online video, power decreased by 11%, the brush 20 minutes microblogging, power down 5%, standby 8 hours, 3% electricity are exhibited on the middle level, the battery is OK for our daily using.

Of course, the battery life is the biggest advantage and this phone is using removable battery.

detachable design aspects, I believe that many consumers really like this design.
