Frasier is back in the building!

Paramount+ has announced a second season of its reboot of Frasier, starring Kelsey Grammer, which combined with 11 seasons of its original run on NBC brings it to 13 seasons. The revived comedy follows Frasier Crane in the next chapter of his life after he returns to Boston.

“Kelsey made a triumphant return as one of the most iconic and beloved characters on television,” said Jeff Grossman, Executive Vice President, Programming, Paramount+ in a statement. “The new series introduced Frasier to a whole new generation while reminding fans of Kelsey’s truly timeless portrayal of Dr. Crane. We're so excited to see what the creative team and superb cast serve up for season two.”

Frasier is a love story, and I am very happy we will be allowed to continue it. I’m delighted that our partners at CBS Studios and Paramount+ are on board for another season, and I can’t wait for the fans to see what we have in store!,” noted Kelsey Grammer in a statement.

In addition to Grammer, Frasier stars Jack Cutmore-Scott as Freddy, Frasier’s son; Nicholas Lyndhurst as Alan, Frasier’s old college buddy turned university professor; Toks Olagundoye as Olivia, Alan’s colleague and head of the university’s psychology department; Jess Salgueiro as Eve, Freddy’s roommate; and Anders Keith as David, Frasier’s nephew. Season one featured guest appearances from original cast members Bebe Neuwirth and Peri Gilpin.

Frasier comes from writers Chris Harris (How I Met Your Mother) and Joe Cristalli (Life in Pieces), who executive produce with Kelsey Grammer, Tom Russo and Jordan McMahon. The series is produced by CBS Studios in association with Grammer’s Grammnet NH Productions.

There is no word on the number of new episodes ordered for this second season of Frasier. Season one of the reboot was 10 episodes, which with 264 for the 1994-2004 original run comes to 274 episodes. Combined with nine seasons (and 202 episodes) of originating Frasier Crane on Cheers and Kelsey Grammer holds the record for the longest run for any actor in the same role on a scripted comedy in primetime.
